I was listening to Hex over coffee this morning myself. Never owned a proper Tele myself, but I've got a humbucker-equipped Tele-style Yamaha that I should probably set up for a lower tuning. I wouldn't mind a 7-string Agile Tele-style either, if I could stop wanting other things more.

Damn, how did I not know about the black ice stuff. It is really similar to what I am building, except more straight up black. At least I am saving money.

I need some doom room help!
I've got the option to buy a late 70s kasuga rickenbacker copy (MIJ, looks incredible) or a "tokai" rebelrocker / rockinbetter.
Kasuga is $800 shipped, Rockinbetter is $500 locally.
Kasuga looks to be made much better and is vintage, rockinbetter doesn't have a lot of information, but from what I can tell - these are the same as the basses found on dhgate and trade tang.

Should I just spend the extra $300?
I'm not a bass player and I just want to get another bass for recording and sometimes jamming.

Any thoughts or ideas are definitely appreciated!
