New Fuzz-Echo from Benson--

https://www.bensonamps.com/guitarpedals ... -fuzz-echo
Over the last 3 (!) years, we’ve been working with our long time friend and associate Jessica Dobson from the Seattle band Deep Sea Diver to take her signature sound (fuzz and delay) and put it into one box. We started with a silicon three-transistor fuzz variant (kind of a deranged mashup of mk1.5 and mk2) and tweaked it into oblivion. Its two main controls (bias and gate) cover a wide range of sounds from aggressive treble booster to thick, dark textured fuzz to the gated skronky sounds often found in the Deep Sea Diver discography. These controls are interactive and change the EQ and distortion profile with even small tweaks...a lot of fun to be had!

The echo is from a tweaked data-sheet PT2399 that is perfectly tuned to the fuzz side and has the standard time, feedback and level (echo) controls. Holding down the footswitch will send the echo into sustained feedback at some settings, which, in conjunction with a short delay time, is a sound that can be found all over DSD records. We recommend holding this down....whenever.

Eftilo is an under-the-radar company making plugins in Sweden, but its Italian designer, Jacopo Lovatello, is one of the more prolific designers going. He's done work for Neural DSP/Softube/Elias. With his Eftilo brand, he's done some nice modulation stuff recently, and he just added a versatile phaser to the line. Some of the rhythmic possibilities remind me of the Subdecay Quasar DLX and Snazzy FX's Tracer City, thanks to its various dual-stage phasing options.

Cherry Audio's KR-55C is a supercharged, best-of-both-worlds software emulation that combines features from two lesser-known drum machines of the post-punk era: Korg's "Rhythm 55" KR-55A and KR-55B. KR-55C boasts all the rhythms from both models, for a total of 240 factory patterns, intros, and fills.

Straight outta Belgium: granular time-stretcher, modulation/repeat percussion, pitch/rhythm generator.

Batch #2 pre-orders are supposed to be open soon.

Dobbo offers 4 onboard presets, but it doesn't appear to offer more than that via external MIDI, which is somewhat disappointing. Maybe with an Ableton editor, you could store and send more. :idk:

It's cheaper than I thought it was going to be? I guess that's the cost savings of moving shipping out of the US 🙄

PastFX is now shipping their version of the rare EHX Echo 600. It was essentially a more expensive DMM with an extra delay chip and sliders, instead of rotary pots. (approx. $310 USD / 500 AUD)

And a take on the Moog CP 251 apparently- I’m trying to remember the original and I recall there being a lot more going on? A mixer, external sample input, 2 lfos, etc. This looks like maybe it’s “inspired by” and not an actual copy.

The original is for several Foogers at once. I think this one is meant to accomodate a single Fooger within a pedalboard-friendly setup.

Happy Delay Day/Week, everyone. :hello:

On Tuesday, four delays were officially rolled out. (1 for Eurorack, 2 pedals, and 1 for Mac/Windows + iOS)

(1) The Black Fountain got a stereo update + MIDI/presets. It also sports dual delay engines (L+R) with added subdivisions. (available in 3 color finishes)

https://oldbloodnoise.com/pedals/p/blac ... ain-stereo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUm5JJPOTa8 (synths)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJLycXzPhjw (guitar)

(2) The Kilobyte 2000 sports an FX loop, new sharpness control, and the preamp can be driven up to 5x harder than the original for nastier repeats.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNgyswu ... neGuitarCo (intro, features discussion)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9QH74L ... bienttrash

(3) Bleass dropped Tides for Mac/Windows/iOS, which has all kinds of bells and whistles for delay enthusiasts---filtering, exotic FX inserts, randomization. Their earlier Delay plugin absolutely rips. It delivers insanely psychedelic and otherworldly sounds, that you can't get out of any other delay tool, so I'm really excited for Tides. I've only spent a few minutes cycling through it, but it can do RM/Bode delays with oddball ascending patterns. It can do vinyl/bitcrushing artifacts. There's just so much there to explore and with the randomization feature, you can instantly trigger chaotic, surreal, or even subtle delay banks. If you're excited to build a custom delay from the groud up, there's no shortage of shaping/coloring options. As with all Bleass plugins, you can download a free demo from their site.

(4)
Xaoc Devices Samarkanda is a digital quad delay module with extensive patching capabilities and a lot of flexibility for signal mangling. It can be used as four entirely independent delays, a dual stereo delay, a complex/multi-tap or multi-channel delay, a quad/polyphonic resonator, a dual chorus, a dual flanger reverb, a looper (with sound on sound!), and a granulator, or any combination of those.

Quadruple resampling delay
Lossless chaining of sections
Delay range of 0.5ms to 15 seconds per channel for a total of 60 seconds when stacked
Analog (tape-like) and digital (granular) sweep behaviours
Continuous, synced, and tap-tempo operation
Clock division and multiplication from 1:8 to 8:1
Buffer freezing and 1V/oct loop playback control
Reverse delay effect
Multiple options for coupling channels

width 42HP
depth 40mm (including cable bracket)

When I inevitably descend into euro hellscape I swear it’s going to be all xaoc all the time. They make the coolest shit. Maybe I can bleep bloop on the streets for money after I sell literally all of my material possessions to fund a xaoc case.

for some reason this makes me want to figure out a way to mount it in a guitar, like how the guy from Muse had a Fuzz Factory and a KAOSS pad built into his guitars. i reckon you could use a garden-variety 9V battery clip and run the power cable around.
