Preview of the first miniberator boxes...

Post by Ryan »

After months of waiting and taking two steps forward and three steps back, the first 125 miniberator boxes are finally in the mail to us! We could be making miniberators by next weekend if we get lucky with the shipping as they're coming out of the States.

The first 125 minis will look like this, then the next batches will be finished differently.

The next 125 will be all red and say Radical Red on them and then we'll do a neat black and green finish and then we don't know yet for the 4th batch of 125... I'm hoping for the Murdererator finish though and trying to talk Tanya into it.

Ooo what's the murderator finish... it sounds like an awesome ride at a theme park crossed with Dethklok

That looks awesome though Ryan! Glad you finally got it sorted with your suppliers, it looks like it was worth it in the end :joy: :yay:

Thanks guys! It was pretty stressful getting to this stage.. we stopped making the RRR back in December as we were so close to having the minis ready but then things just took forever with the finishing. All through the processes of designing the pcb, sourcing parts and the pcb manufacturing, sourcing boxes and drilling. I always thought that the actual finishing of the boxes would be the easiest step and would basically take care of itself. It was actually the toughest step, it took the longest time and the most attempts and had the most failures but I really think we're finally on track now!

If anybody's curious, it's 4Site Electronics that took such good care of us in the end. The supplied the boxes, drilled them, powder coated and screen printed them, and gave us first articles every step of the way and put up with our pickiness... and did it all in a decent time frame to boot.

This is the Murdererator finish, Pete, one of my personal faves!

Well i've only seen it for a few seconds but along with the zombies finishes, that's now one of my favourites too! *Pokes Tanya to let Ryan use the finish :poke:*

If you could combine the zombie & murdererator though

Thanks FS, I totally hosed up that picture haha.. I suck at these tubes.

Also, now that the minis are darn near sorted out... it's time to upgrade the RRR. I've got the features set pretty much but I want to do a first prototype in a box before I get into them.

That Murdererator finish is pretty badass hey? I betcha we'll do it for sure!

Zombies and murder, hey Pete? I like the way you think!

Are you taking reserves for any of the first 125? If so put me on the list, I want one. What will this pedal cost?!!!!!This is exciting hope I can get my hands on one of these

Hey Ross, we're not doing a list or anything for these as officially we should be sending them all to our stores who have been waiting so long.... but I'll be making these available for my ILF pals so don't sweat it. Within a month we'll have another batch of finished boxes too, nice red ones. We might not do raindrop ones again for awhile but for the next several months we should at least have some finish available or a choice between a couple.

The MSRP will be $225 and ILFers can probably twist my arm for free shipping. *smile* When they're officially ready to be built, next week or two depending on how long the shipping takes, I'll be up for doing a handful for any interested ILF folks.

Ryan - I NEED a Rainberator to offset my West Coast SDD and bring my Feng Shui pedalboard back into balance, but the Murdererator is Soooooo cool that I would be willing to change to a Jack The Ripper vibe and let my Sun Face NKT 275 go on a killing spree. :thumb:

As much as I tried to win one of these, I think I'm gonna plunk down some cash on one... I'm gonna wait for the murdererator finish tho :success: I want my pedal to be perrrrrfect! :omg: and if you do zombies and murder... i dunno what I'm gonna do, I might have to punch myself in the face or some junk.
