How are you using your Organizer?

Post by neonblack »

Besides as an organ, I mean. Any cool combinations of pedals involving this guy? I've heard mixed reviews but I've been kind of interested for a while now, and I'm pretty sure I'm getting one. I'm imagining running it with fuzz obviously, but are there any other cool combinations? Anyone tried it after an analog octaver? After reverb? I'm pretty excited.

Badass pedal, bought one on a whim, not expecting to get much mileage out of it. I was pleasantly proven wrong, I use it for both bass and guitar on a pretty regular basis! On bass I run it clean with reverb or slapback delay for them ambient sounds, on guitar I use pre-dirt to make some lead lines really jump out. You can hear it on certain songs on this record: https://dustymcqueen.bandcamp.com/, specifically on Water and No Light

I love having the Down and Choir knob at full, with the Up at about 10, With a biting fuzz. Sounds evil and huge! I also love using it clean with abit of lag for triads, amazing pedal.

I had it for a few days and refunded it and regret it. Just couldn't afford it at the time. The lag is the best. Sounds good with the mini.

Mine is on the way in the next day or two. Just had a thought on the drive home how it would sound with my new EQD hoof fuzz. I'm super ready for it to get here. I'll report back after some much needed playing with it. I'll do the same report after playing with my ding ding too.

It's very hard to make The Organizer sound bad. To be honest, I'm not such a huge fan of it as a straight organ simulator... the "Leslie-like warble" the company brags up is overrated. EVERYTHING has a Leslie-like warble. The EHX POG is better as an organ sim. I use it as an octave pedal. Dime the Up, Down, and Dry signals, turn off Delay and Choir, and keep the Tone at 12 o'clock. SWEET with any fuzz you have. VERY Jack White.

I used to throw the organizer in the loop of the super ego in trigger mode with a healthy amount of gliss. it was incredible. miss that combo, probably my favorite combo of all time.

This song has the Organizer on guitar and bass.

In both cases I put fuzz before the Organizer, and phaser + chorus after.
The guitar track has stereo envelope follower at the end of the chain.

I like adding phaser and chorus effects because I think it makes the Organizer effect come alive in the same way that the ensemble effect of old string machines does.

I use it with my dispatch master for really cool old horror movie type of sounds. this clip was at low volumes but it gets really nice at band volumes when the feedback and reverb really start getting going.

I use all the time for leads.

https://daisyface.bandcamp.com/ on "quick and alone" it comes in at the :20 mark. then again at the :37. Choir is all the way up. Lag all the way down. Crank the Up and Down. It sounds more like a synth at this point but that works perfectly for what we are going for.

You can really do a lot with this pedal. I don't think I could ever take it off a board again.
