I get it. Let's have a closer look shall we?

I like the wavy circuit design and all the different diodes/resistors. And the transformer, gee. This was right after I sprayed the deoxit in a few spots, which cleared up things a little. I don't think it made much difference tho, seems it's just the preamp gain pot that has a rough first half of its sweep, some nasty pops, but it's fine once you set it.

(sorry for the mini pic dump)

I hope this pic isn't huge...
Yesterday I picked up this power amp for $50. It's an old Peavey Series 260 rehoused into a wooden box. So now, like, nobody will know my toan secrets. Plus the badgeless PV 215. Coconut water for toan.

Dude this amp sounds goooood. Loud and clean, nice spring reverb and weird fuzzy overdrive. It made a crackling sound when I first played through it, but a lil oxide- and electro-cleaner inside fixed it right up.

Peavey, you do not disappoint.

Adding this inside cutout view, it has a simple rustic beauty.. a couple of the transistors seemed to have hairy legs. Anyway, I just couldn't pass this up at the price and somehow I love old solid state combos.
I missed this post, SS Peaveys rock!

I have a Studio Pro 40 that I love, the spring tank was busted so I put a long decay MOD tank in there. I play it all the time with no pedals, footswitch for cavernous reverb and scuzzy overdrive, yer good to go! Sounds great sending the preamp out to a big tube power amp too.

Is the Pacer a 10 or 12” speaker? Thinking about putting an Eminence 12 in mine, don’t know which one yet...

Reminds me of when my old band used to keep all our stuff stacked on shipping palettes in case our basement flooded.

More like an 800 with some Dual Rec low end, I really really like it. It’s also a lot more reliable than the various vintage heads I was running which is sick while gigging more.
