Damn that's hot. Kinda reminds me of the amps that Shellac uses...

One thing is that it doesn't love being blasted with my BAT pharaoh the way a tube amp does but that makes sense since the pharaoh is really just for beating up tubes anyway I guess. Other fuzzes sound good with it though. What kinda pedals did you try to use with yours?
Do you use all the different settings? ive always been interested in quilters

Nope, I messed with it for a little and this was my favorite setting so I've just left it. That's pretty much how I would use any amp though. Just been running different pedals through it. I got it used for like $235 shipped I think and for that price it's crazy good. Probably not for everybody but I love it.

I've been toying with selling my pile of amps and just keeping 1 and getting a quilter like that. I need to go try one out. How is the onboard distortion? I don't need high gain just that kinda trashy topped out fender distortion.

I actually love the distortion in my musicman, which is supposedly crap according to the webz.

Everything I've read on the interweb is the exact opposite of how I feel IRL Re: amps

With all the different voicings you could probably find a sound you like. If not, ayyyyy pedals, right? :omg:
I could record some clips or something if you want.

New here as a member. Many Google searches have led me here and I've learned a lot. Thought I would share some current gear and perhaps I can give back. Also, my band mates think I'm a bit crazed. Maybe some people here can appreciate my habit/hobby/mid-life-crisis differently.

Orange OR50 (EL34) and Orange PCC112 (Vintage 30)
Hovercraft Dwarvenaut 20 (EL84) and Orange PCC112 (Vintage 30)
Hovercraft Caribou (KT88)
Sunn 200S head (KT88) and 200S 2x15 cab (original JBLs)
Sunn Sorado (KT88) and 4x10 cab (original Sunns)
Sunn Sentura II (EL34) and 1x15 cab (modified Sunn PA cab, unknown replacement driver)
Sound City 50 Plus (EL34) and Ampeg V4 4x12s (Eminence Wizard x 2 + Texas Heat x 2 X-pattern, Texas Heat x 2 + Delta Pro x 2 X-pattern)

I mix and combine the heads and cabs in various ways based on the situation.

I seem to go back to the KT88 Sunns as a pedal platform. Very musical and great low end. The 200S is tube rectified and usually gets first pick. One of those and the 50 Plus make a great two-amp, always-on combination. The 50 Plus has mids for days and cuts really well. For grab-and-go situations it's usually the OR or Dwarvenaut and the two 1x12s, with just a tuner and clean boost in front.

Coincidentally the 200S used to be owned by Stevie Floyd of Dark Castle, so I'm sure it's been through a lot, but it's still kicking great. Strange chain of custody having to do with a tattoo artist in Detroit. We shared some email and she was cool about confirming ownership. It is part of her rig in the video below. I admire her/their playing and how much sonic space they fill as a two piece.

Oh cool I love her music! I got to see her other band Taurus when they were touring the Life album. Really powerful stuff.
