Yeah I thought for the stuff he makes, he would be more active in these parts but even then he probably is busy although it's easy to keep up to date on facebook. I will have to wait to grab one, I just bought a MIJ HM-2 a couple days ago and if I like it as much as my HM-2 dunwich clone then I'll sell the dunwich for the Dunn. Mostly because of space, I have the large enclosure HM-2 and it's a bit of a hog for a dirt and I'd rather have two dirts for the same space.Iommic Pope wrote:If you do, I'd be keen to hear your review.sergiomunoz74 wrote:Well I have never been a very discerning person when it comes to muff variants although I have only tried an NYC and a couple other clones that were supposed to be a rams head and a russian. Still couldn't tell much of a difference, I liked the Musket quite a bit but I sold it long ago. I might just grab it next paycheck or something or ask someone for a nice crimbus present.Iommic Pope wrote:Yeah I was kinda bummed when I saw he's retired the Green Russian variant, but it's probably still worth a look in.sergiomunoz74 wrote:https://reverb.com/item/3401821-dunn-effects-blackbeard-fuzz-2016-acid-etch
Kinda gassing for this but I don't know if I can swing more dirt when I only use an HM-2 clone for pretty much everything.
I'm sure you'd have no trouble flipping it.
I like the Dunn stuff. It's pretty fucking good.
Although I only own the 5150 pre so, you know....
Matt should get a shark tank round here, even though he's not a super active poster.
I'm sure the rest of us would keep it ticking over for him.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
I had about 10 minutes running guitar through it, last night. The tone seems pretty well balanced, perhaps a bit bass heavy. Although, that may be attributed to the headphones I used. I will, too, try it out with a better pair. Mine probably sounded best clean. I tried an overdrive that did not work, at all. Also, put a reverb into it that was okay. In fairness, though, it was a reverb that I've been trying to warm up to.odontophobia wrote: I need to test with some better headphones instead of what I'm using but so far so good. There's a surprising amount of volume available. I didn't go past 9 o'clock. But I only had some crappy in ear headphones with an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter available. Need something a little better with a longer cable to be a bit more comfortable but that's an easy fix.
From the brief first impression, I think as a utility pedal it'll work fine. I may end up tagging it on the end of a quick, grab-n-go "test" board. But, I doubt I'll be using it for DI.

Amazon is shipping new headphones my way tomorrow. Should be a nice, reasonably balanced pair. Just some Audio technica but should suffice.blakestree wrote:I had about 10 minutes running guitar through it, last night. The tone seems pretty well balanced, perhaps a bit bass heavy. I feel like as a utility this will be handy. Great for doom dads and "daddies" alike (smooches).
I'm going to spend some more time trying to get the buzzz and the Elements to sound decent through it.
The clean tone is really solid. Dispatch Master sounded great. Ct5 sounded good. Cadavernous reverb was great.
For the crowd that's into the Coffee and Riffs and OBNE ambient effects playing this is capable of doing that in the comfort of your own ear holes and nobody else's.
It's a great little box for a cool $100 and supporting OBNE is cool by me. It's certainly not the only thing capable of doing this.
It'll make some of the guys who have practice space boards and amps really stoked to have a little at home board with built in amp. I can see myself populating a little PT-jr with some cool effects and this to go to town on.

I'm using a Yamaha DG-Stomp at the moment, but it doesnt take pedal very well.
So that is very interesting.

Possibly the last few holiday sale scores for the year ...

I'm starting to run out of room in my pedal drawers, so a gear purge may be in order soon.

I haven't really had the time to dial it in. Hopefully over the next few days I can get something working with it.vidret wrote:how did the elements sound through that?
imo the elements is one of very few dirt pedals that can sound good pretty much straight into headphones. It's almost like an amp sima solid state one.
Maybe not for that tubey overdrive tho.

I looooove the sound of my Elements running into the amp sim on my iPad GarageBand.
Pro tip: crank them mids

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
took back the Volca FM. it's got some really cool sounds, but i kinda hate the interface. sequencer is dope, easy to program some stuff, but MAN. that is a LOT of menu diving. too much for me.
annnnnnnnnnd i'm a git. i have FM8 in Komplete, so. like. have a LOT of FM synthesis. with a wayyyyyy easier (for me at least) interface.
i'm looking at what i want in hardware and what i want in soft right nows. murph.
grabbed a PO Sub and Office. i'm not that interested in the Factory? but i love the 3 i have, the Office looks AMAZEBALLS, and i really dig the Sub so far.
zooms.

I'm curious on thoughts. It looks so awesome now that it has Windows support, but the touch pads were hyper sensitive on the qu-nexus (and I don't want to accidentally mess a setting up.)
