This song came out in '96, for reference.

And Come to Grief is also going to be there. :!!!:
I am insanely jealous of you.
I haven't heard the new guy yet but he seems cool enough from interviews I've read?

Also, happy to hear things are going well for those of you actively band-ing! :joy:
I saw Scissorfight with the new guy at RPM fest and he was fantastic. I'm not too familiar with the band but friends who are are, were all super positive. Great live band, so intense!

Yay or nay, I convinced the guy to put it on reverb checkout so I could possibly buy it since I dont have paypal. I kinda really want it but I heard mix things and I also heard this just sounds like a weird marshall instead of an actual bax/james orange. Should I send an offer, what do you guys think?

based on everything i've read elsewhere and what Doom bro's have said, i would avoid it.

But I'm sure there are a lot of Electric Amp owners out there, I've just never heard from them.

also...not sure what prices are over the US, but is that much cheaper than getting a Matamp? like a GT1?

Well the plan was to offer him a a bit less but I have no idea what they go for since they dont come up often. Only other guy is trying to sell his for like 5000 which i absolutely asinine. I read opposing arguments and it seems like a really polarizing amp honestly. Some have a really bad view, and some say its built like a tank and sounds great.

I definitely do not want to have to buy something custom from Matamp as their waits are long and I really just want an OR120 that doesn't chew up tubes. I used to have one that continually crapped out on me until it finally gave a death weeze and I sold it to someone willing to put the money to repair it. Its my favorite tone but I just have had bad experiences especially since that was my first expensive purchase with guitar. Saved for like several months on a shit job to get it. :(

fair enough man...not sure when you got your matamp...i got mine about 2 years ago (new) and i've no issues whatsoever with tubes or anything. I know there was a lot of issues with Matamp when David Green was building them, but seems like since Hayden has been building them, they have pretty solid.

I get your point about the wait, but i guess you could also argue, given its so much money, then its worth waiting for the right one? maybe even looking at some other local US builders...

sorry, i dont seem to be helping on this one!

If you want an OR120, you should get an OR120.

Tube chewing is a YMMV thing somewhat inherent in buying 40+ year old amps, though. Mine does not chew tubes, for example, but I have no doubt that yours did.
good deals are here.

Actually I may call them and see whats up but the wait plus the fact that I would get hit with customs from the UK would probably make it too expensive to want to do considering that there are great companies out here in the US that will make an amp head. Just figured I would ask for this one as it's conceptually cool but I just read a long ass thread about the electrics and it puts me off. Sadly It lead me into a long thread about hovercraft and their strange ways too but thats beside the point.

Regarding buying another OR120, I might do it but to be honest I don't want to have to deal with a possible amp loaded with gremlins once more, vintage amps are cool but I have a leeriness about them. If I could grab one locally I would but most locally are really beat up or just too expensive considering what they go for most times. I may just wait and see what Science is doing with their new line, or find someone that can make me a OR with some tweaks to suit my needs.

Sergio, you looked at Blackhawk amps yet?
If Nick still has some long wait times (and I can't see why he wouldn't, dude has been busy as), they may be another option?

doesn't hillbilish designs do an orange?

or there's those clone companies that do (weber?) which you could get, and get a local builder to assemble with good parts and good irons.

Naw I haven't actually I'm about to go ahead and take a look, and I do know a guy that works locally but I don't know what kind of prices. I know we have really competent techs in Chicago so Im gonna go ahead and snoop. As far as Dunwich I thought amps had stopped being produced, I emailed him, but I put myself on the list like 3 years ago and forgot all about it because well I thought that was over. Plus my whole wants have changed over the times too. Although not drastically.

Might just wait and see what the new science amps look like since I already have a science cab

I have never met someone who owned, or even played, an Electric Amp that was stoked on it. Take that for what it's worth. If you're gonna drop 2k on an amp, I'd go Science or Verellen.
KHEMMIS. Doomed heavy metal. DECEIVER out 11/19/21 on Nuclear Blast.

GLACIAL TOMB. Misanthropic death/black/sludge. S/t debut out now on Gilead Media.

Good deals with: Ancient Astronaught, conky, crohny, D-Day, Corey Y, ryan summit, tons more here and on HCFX under this username

yep...if I had that much money...and living in the states...I would do 1 of 2 things...
1. Put in a order for a Dunwich, and buy a Orange CR120 to tie me over, and serve as a backup amp
2. If i wanted something quicker...Verellen...all the way.

I'm not too big on the verellen aesthetic, I decided to skip the electric entirely, the guy was the 5th owner and for an amp that was made only 7 years ago, that's a lot of hands to pass through. I think I might just end up going with a science, I spoke to Alex about a possible Matamp/Orange-esque thing he was thinking of designing around a year ago but he is busy and focusing just on the MK II's of the amps after I messaged him like a couple days back.

Depending on how the new mother goes, I may get one in 100watts or even 50 watts, as I'm not playing to flap my pants anymore. I might have to get a new science cab too as only his shiv head will fit on my vertical 2x12. Maybe get a 1x15 for guitar to mix with my 2x12.

Also Dunwich no longer does amps, he messaged me regarding new orders, mostly he doesn't have the time and the profit margin is too small. I do love his pedals though, my HM-2 clone has beat out my skullyrat as my main dirt since I bought it.
