Stillwater and Evil Twin both make very, very good saisons, some traditional, some really funky takes on the style.
If you ever get down to Asheville, Wicked Weed has killer saisons and sours to try.
i've been trying a few different types of beer and ale which you can't really get in my country... not very into bitter ales. Wychcraft i liked though. haven't tried those many to be honest.
i keep coming back to Original Guiness most of the time, but germans are still kings no matter what you say... Franziskaner, Erdinger, etc., that shit owns all our pussy beers. Original Guiness is also acceptable and won't turn you into a lady. oh, also Duvel. and the occasional Cobra, that shit is fucking tasty if you like more exotic spicy type beer.
cider is great if it's really good. i've only been buying Henry Westons lately, very very good.
That Mastodon video is another fine example of why Mastodon are way out of their depth. If they weren't Mastodon and were a new band playing that song live in such a shoddy manner, I have no doubt in my mind everyone would hate it. But because it's Mastodon, the god's of underground metal, they are instantly given a free pass through mediocrity and out of tune vocals. Stick to what you know, what you're good at, or call it quits.
My favourite ale at the moment is Well's Banana Bread 5.2%. Absolutely gorgeous. Also a fan of London Pride, a very rich, dark ale.
Honestly, the fun part about craft beer is trying EVERYthing and making a note of what you liked and what you didn't. I wouldn't do that with other drinks, or anything else for that matter, but as far as a bottle of beer that usually costs no more than €3 and can be found in most off-licenses and supermarkets, I love just picking one of everything and going home and trying them, one at a time, recording which ones struck a chord with me.
But as far as perennial favourites, here in Ireland we have access to Sierra Nevada, Founders, Erdinger, O'Hara's, Brewdog, Punk IPA, Duvel, Innis & Gunn, Hobgoblin, and a bunch of others I have yet to try.
All the beers I could recommend are either CO specific, or west coast. All you east coast people and your founders and three floyds (which is more central, but still) can suck it.
As far as Saisons the Stone Saison is a pretty good introduction to the style, as is the Collette from Great Divide. New Belgium's Trippel and Abby beers are fantastic openers into Belgian styles. Good wheat beers have a really good citrusy taste that can either be heavy almost spiced orange, to really light lemonade taste as well. I'd recomend an unfiltered wheat beer if you enjoy sweeter and less bitter beers. Also some darker lagers and bocks have a sweet taste to them rather than the bitter as well.

ales are usually pretty expensive here. around 3£ a bottle for something i don't know wether i'm going to enjoy or not is kinda outta budget at the moment so i usually go for the good ole Original Guiness, Brighton is mad expensive. also having a new found major synth obsession is of no help to any goddamn thing except toanz for days.

The best ale ive ever had was at a small pub in somerset and it was a local ale...very nice...no other ale has come close to even tasting ok for me. I guess the freshness and proximity thing is a big impact on taste
except toanz for days.
