Ugh.
My wife and I had a conversation about where we want to steer this ship last night, what "ideal" would look like etc. She mentioned she'd like to lose weight and get fit (which she really needs to amd she knows it) and it was really refreshing to hear her arrive at that point.
Before, as she was leaving for work, I made some offhand and stupid jokes about the cat being fat (which, it is) and then used things we'd said last night against me, like I'm some kind of complete bastard.

Fuck it, I'm just not saying things anymore.

A campus safety guy collapsed earlier today. I was the second one there...used a defib and gave him CPR. He left in an ambulance a little while ago...not sure if they found a pulse before they strapped him in.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Don't think too much about it man. I know that's hard to actually do, but you did what you could. I bet everyone is glad you knew how to do CPR and use a defib.

I just want to take turns listening to songs with someone, be excited about things.

There's some way heavier shit going on in this thread but yo I can relate. It struck me the other day while sitting outside that I have zero friends. Not one aside from my wife and daughter. Don't get me wrong that is great an all. We moved to Illinois twelve years ago in our mid to late twenties and I guess it wasn't a priority then but it has been bothering me lately. My dad never really had any friends when I was younger and I thought that was sad as shit. How the fuck do you make friends when ur forty. Maybe it just happens.

RE: The divorce.

One of my daughters friends parents are splitting up and it has been ugly. Would it be weird for you to take the kid and your kid somewhere cool/nice for an afternoon Jwar? We have been inviting the kids friend for dinner, movies, etc. She has said she doesn't like to be at home, I would think it is a similar experience as they are the same age. These two have hung out since kindergarten so it's not weird or Whatever.

Yeah, I turn 38 in a few weeks and it hit me. Like, I can't even sit and chat about records with anyone.

Nah man...you gotta be honest...it may hurt sometimes, but both parties know its coming from a good place...and although at first it feels like shit hearing it, you process it and realise they were right.

Yeah the thing is, if you tell me something i dont want to hear about myself, I might be devo for a while, even spitting venom, but I'll probably calm the fuck down, reflect on it and try to change that at some point.
Apparently that does not apply to women.
