Deets:
The shelter thinks he's a black mouth cur and weimaraner mix. However, he's incredibly chill and relaxed and was when we met him in the shelter before he was neutered and on 72 hour pain meds.
He only weighs 38 lbs and is basically skin and bones, so we need to get him up to at least 45. Puppy food mixed with adult food, good times.
He's super shy and timid but an absolute sweetheart. He's also housebroken, so we're 99% sure he was abandoned by some fucking piece of shit scumbags. The shyness is obviously partly because it's new people and a new place, but if he was abandoned this will definitely contribute to this and distrusting most people.
Great around other dogs, CBFed about cats. Despite this, the resident cat is not amused by his addition.
Now for the bad news - in addition to being severely underweight, he has tapeworms, whipworms, and heart worms. The former two were easy to treat and have since passed. The HW, however, is treatable (they were recently discovered after being in the shelter for a month, so they're not dangerously developed yet) but rough. On Monday he starts 30 days of antibiotics (delayed thanks to the holidays), then after that he gets a spinal injection, has to be on crate rest for four weeks, get a second injection, and then a third the following day.
He's gonna have a very rough couple of months. But he's such a sweet, gentle dog that it'll all be worth it.

Nice dog! Lucky he found such a loving and caring household. He will probably open up with time and after recovering.

you're clearly good dog parents. i'm glad y'all found him. he looks like a total sweetheart.
just to be absolutely clear, i have no intention to *ever* lie to Becca. she's astoundingly honest, and so of course i must reciprocate to merit her trust. and besides, she's whip-smart, probably brighter than me, and i probably couldn't slip anything by her even if i tried. especially since i'm pathetically transparent...my mom could always tell when i was lying to her just from the look on my face. and i don't want to lie to her anyway. my dream has always been to have a partner with whom i can share everything and not hold back. you'd best believe that now that i've finally found it, I'm not going to do anything to fuck it up.

Ordered a $100 gimbal for my phone, gonna turn my neighbor's dog into a Youtube celebrity (or use it for work... but mostly try to make Captain Janeway an influencer).

Two friends of mine have recently taken on a rescue dog with a few problems (his are more behavioural) so I've seen first hand how much work and money and effort it can take. You're doing a nice thing and I hope it works out.

My friend came through town for a belated bday thing, got me a landyachtz gordito, and we rode around a lot. I ate shit and took a big chunk of skin out of my chin, but it was a fun day.

Discovered a joke album by Johnny and Shuggie Otis did a filthy joke blues-rock album as Snatch and the Poontangs, the lyrics to "Two Time Slim" are killing me. It's where Nick Cave got the "I'd crawl over 50 good pussies to get to one fat boy's ass" in "Stagger Lee"

A couple of weeks ago i managed to re-install Ableton on my portable PC and, thanks to the super useful line-out from the Boss Katana, i finally have the chance to record stuff again in pretty decent quality. Really happy about this, managed to record some riffs i have been working on sice months, wrote a couple of drum tracks, and i'm already starting to get the feel of the songs.
