As I sit in O’Hare waiting for my flight home I would like to apologize to the city of Chicago. The first time I came here I wasn’t even here for 12 hours, the next time I completely dislocated my shoulder (requiring surgery), and the third time I was T-boned in my rental car. Suffice it to say I have not been a fan of this city and routinely called it a “northern shithole.” HOWEVER, I’ve been coming up here a few times for work, weddings, visiting friends, et al and have had one helluva time each time. I would like to apologize and say I could honestly see myself having zero problems relocating here if the need arose (despite being a lifelong Astros fan and harboring a scorching hatred for Chicago baseball).

That being said, please overhaul O’Hare.

if you like big cities, don't mind a total absence of topography, and can bear the extremes of weather, Chicago (where i grew up) is about as good as you can do for American cities. more affordable than the coasts, a cultural hub, and probably the best food between New York and San Francisco. on the downside it's brutally segregated, rather "gritty," pretty reactionary for a world-sized place, and so big that it takes a couple of hours to get from the Near South Side to Evanston on the busses which are the only thing running at 2AM. but the Art Institute and the locally-developed architecture (Louis Sullivan, Holabird and Root) make up for most of it. it ain't Amsterdam, but it ain't St. Louis either.

I lived in St. Louis for a few years and that place was rough. Could be worse, though, it's not Cleveland or Detroit, although the latter is getting better. Ms. Diver is a small town Florida girl, so I think she'd freeze to death if we moved anywhere north of DC, nor do I think she could handle a city any larger than Austin.

I got a mini-keg for nitro-infused cold brew coffee - pour in cold brew, charge it with a N2O whipped cream charger, wait at least an hour and now I have cold brew that has the consistency of a pint of Guinness.

Ten years later and I finally have a new (to me) set of golf clubs! No more unforgiving, hand-me-down irons that are too long to swing properly!

I had a customer who had already tipped (I was doing cash under table work) try to tip me again, personally, cause he said he saw me put the last tip he gave me in the jar. It was a small, nice thing.

My job generally sucks balls but I wanna give a shout out to all my amazing Filipino coworkers who are never anything but pleasant, and who randomly give me incredibly good food and bottles of Crown Royal "'cause my grandson was born yesterday! Have a good weekend!"

Lots of things to be happy about actually.

-Band shit is really getting exciting. We have some pro shot live stuff thats going online soon as well as a music video. Plus tons of shows planned for summer and an EP to record. To say im pretty fucking happy creatively rn is a understatement.

-420 is looking to be a lit time. Bunch of buds coming through with all the fucking weed we could ask for. Gonna have a record listening setup ready to go, starting off with the live at TMR Sleep box I was able to score today!

-My boy has been doing super good in school and I couldn't be more proud. :)
