Thanks David! For the most I'm just tired of the peanut gallery telling me how they want the shit to sound, ie. dudes that are like "I used to be a soundtech blahblah" and drunks who have issues with me, who I then have to handle myself cause there's no security at the place. Just a bad work environment.

baremountain wrote:So I was in a band with my former (then-current) roommates & one other guy for 8 months, up until about a year ago when we parted to focus on our own stuff - we pretty much just played my music that I wrote/recorded myself, but with a little embellishment on their ends.
A few weeks ago I got asked to book a show for my favorite musician whose coming through with his band, so rather than book myself solo on it, I asked the boys and we agreed to play a reunion show. I rehearsed with the drummer alone Thursday and the bassist and other guitarist yesterday, and the rehearsals have me feeling super great. We're doing a full band rehearsal today and I can't wait. We've even got a new song worked out that's our first time collaborating under my project's moniker, so that's super cool. We had a cult-like following due to the DIY scene that revolved around our old house, so the turnout is gonna be killer & the crowd will be chock-full of friends singing along and having a good time. Here's a video of our farewell show if you wanna see - it's pretty dang magical but also super sloppy (but the crowd matched the energy so who gives a fuck about playing well???)

Now this is everything a great gig should be - loud, shambolic, full of life, joy and audience interaction

Wish I'd been there, it makes me think of great gigs I used to go to at squats and tiny bars in Antwerpen. Thanks for posting, this improved my day no end!
Edit: Also - awesome moustache! Reminds me of the bass player of Zita Swoon (Tomas de Smet)

Made some proper Ramen for dinner, house smelled wonderful all afternoon while the broth was going.
Best thing as there's plenty for seconds.
Also, finally around to investing in some nice new clothes.

Basic Shoyu style Just added roast chicken that was handy as well as the other usual toppings. Used 'Angel hair' style pasta that you find in the refrigerated section in the grocery store instead of the pre packaged Ramen. I think they're a little firmer and better quality I think?
Was okay, but went well with a few beers.

Nearing the end of a 14 hour night shift. All I've done is watch Predator, then Predator 2, played video games and maintained a very consistent laziness.

Took myself on a date tonight. Sushi, then coffee, then saw Life in a cushy theater that served beer and had reclining seats and was completely empty. It was a pretty great night. The movie was solid too!

It's 3:30am in Germany and I have just finished refurbishing and cleaning a KORG DW-6000 hybrid synthesizer. My son will wake up in a few hours. It's his 10th birthday and the synth will be his main present.
I hope he'll like it. I just know he was mad at me when I sold the exemplar I had for a while a few years ago. Let's see what happens.

And finally I can go to bed!
