Lou Barlow smacked the microphone with his right eye while headbanging, fell on the ground for about a minute and continued playing while Mascis awkwardly glared at him.

Brilliant.
That is brilliant.

Great show, played some pretty deep cuts and J played a Rickenbacker and Tele which was weird and cool. They did have a different fill-in Drummer though.
Last night I got paid to do a brief session with an ambient/droney guitar duo - one of whom was Petsoundz, and I'm recording the other guy with two other people on Sunday for some more money!
I've also got sessions lined up Saturday & Monday with some killer local acts. My goal to get more serious about recording this year is off to a marvelous start
I've got a job interview on Tuesday! It's a good company, and if I get it I'll be doing the kind of work I like to do, in an excellent work environment, and they're in a city that'd be great to live in.
Now I just have to figure out how to handle asking for Tuesday afternoon off with my current employer so I can do the interview...
Speaking of the dentist, had my followup appt, this time with the hygienist to remove a bit of tartar which had built up on the inside of 3 teeth. She complimented me despite never having braces, and an outlier or 5, of cavities a couple years back. No sensitivity, decay or infections. Healthy gums. Would be better without the sounds stuck in my head. If only you could visit the dentist in that anechoic chamber...
But highlight came in the form of catching up with a friend who shared some super fun times growing up, 20+ years and counting. It had been 3 years since we last saw each other due to life happening. Great food def brings ppl together. Life has recently kicked his ass, too but dude is getting through it and grabbed life by the pussy. (I'd typically say balls but life's a bitch innit?). Great to see a friend succeed. A real friend. Man...the stories. Good dood.
Nothing says birthday and unemployed like making myself an Irish coffee at 1pm. Got my job moves done to collect this week's unemployment, have a good interview next Monday...and...hmmm, sounds like it's time to partaaayyyyy.

so the trip to the dentist that threatened to leave me with $200 payments for 6 months got downgraded, at my request, to the two worst teeth being filled and the rest waiting until October when my insurance rolls over. And the end of this year's dental coverage may pay for most of today's visit. i am very relieved. those $200 payments would have left me dead broke for six months.
