Show coming up on Tuesday. First solo show ever. Pretty pumped. Otherwise, everything else is just constant bad feelings.
But it's just me with an Octatrack, a Bass Station II, like two or three pedals and some tape loops. And a live remix of the song Dancing Queen by Abba. And i really like the band/artist/whatever name I'm performing under.
Spending tonight Going HAM (Home At Midnight).

I just played a solo electronic set with a broken MIDI cable and it didn't go terribly.
I performed under the name Corpse Flower.
Afterward i sat outside the venue and had a really nice heart to heart with an old friend who i hadn't seen in a month or two.

Thanks. At least three Corpse Flowers just bloomed simultaneously in the USA, which is impressive because they take about a decade for their first bloom and then bloom every 3 years afterward. Also, their scientific name is "Amorphophallos Titanum" which means Giant Misshapen Penis, so best plant ever.
But also i was standing there watching one bloom in Indiana and i was like, this is the best band name ever, i have to start using it now.

Even without the name, their fragrance would make them the best plant ever.

My understanding is that there are many plants smell like corpses, some of them just are trying to attract different pollinators, but some literally pre-date Bees. They smell like corpses to attract flies and such.

i had a professor who would cut off the flower stalks from some of the plants in the greenhouse and hide them in other professors' classrooms. great fun.

Woot!
Also I got my Motorcycle Learner's Permit yesterday arvo.
Dragged the kids down to QLD transport an hour before they shut on a Friday arvo, the queue is ridiculous and then someone working there grabs me and tells me I can do the test and pay online, which I was oblivious to.
Went home, did it in five minutes, 29/30.
I probably could have done it open book but I wanted to see if I could get 100% from my learning.
The question I fucked up I did so because my squirmy five year old was sitting on my lap playing Lego and my three year old was fucking around with all my music gear.
Got her back later because after she went to bed I went to watch a you tube video and realised I hadn't turned my stereo on.
Got blasted with the thing turned all the way because she cranked it when it was off.
That was funny.
But what was funnier was she was drifting off in her bed and got such a shock she bumped her head.
