So you're at professional conference for your sector, and someone from the government department that doles out your funding, giving a presentation, cites an incident of conduct they have seen in public that is highly unprofessional and you know, beyond any reasonable doubt, that they are talking employees of the very same organisation you work for.

Once the wave of fear subsides, embarrassment eases and the rage calms down, you realise that the employees in question are only following the stupid protocols and procedures put in place by your dipshit manager, which have blossomed into a workplace culture of ignorance and hopeless stupidity.

It is at this point all the fear about holding onto this job dissipates, and you are free to quit and do whatever the fuck else, because all your trying doesn't really matter.
You can't achieve anything here.
Your actions will only be undone.
You aren't a shitty person because you can't solve these problems.
They were never yours to solve.

I work in human services.
Believe me when I tell you those of us that do aren't all fluffy kittens chasing clouds.
We will tear your throat out and stomp your ballsack.
Just don't fuck with us while we're trying to make life bearable for those who got a raw deal.

Hooray hunan services. Speaking of which, I definitely need to stop working my current human services job sometime in the next few weeks/months. Shit is so frustrating and stressful that its killing my motivation to do the things I actually wanna do with my time. And Im looking at moving for the third time in 6 months. House is nice but 5 roommates is kinda crazy. Need two at the max, maybe live solo for once.

& im putting this in the happiness thread because a year ago I wouldnt have had this much conviction about making changes in my life to actually do what I want. Im done with worrying and thinking what if so much, I just gotta try new stuff and roll with the punches.

My friend is making a short film and he asked me to make the music for it. :!!!:

I've never had someone ask me to make music for a project before, so I'm really really excited.

I hear that! I'm moving jobs and moving out to go and live by myself starting next week, it's pretty exciting.

It probably sounds really stupid, but it's actually been ages since i've actually been in the mood to properly listen to music. The past week it clicked and i've been cramming every minute to listening to everything that I have and things I haven't. Feels great to have a drink and jam out.

Fuck yeah dude, I feel that.
The fucking job just starts vacuuming all the energy you had to do rad shit.
Having the motivation to change is a huge step though.
You should feel good about it and use the momentum and energy it brings as lon as possible.

Thanks dude. I definitely have to ride the wave and not let it pass me by. Gonna spend a good chunk of the weekend thinking and researching new stuff. I gotta figure out what kind of work I can do that can still make me enough money to save a bit without taking up the majority of my cognitive effort. Maybe 2 part time gigs instead of the 9-5 grind... I think having less work more often might be more conducive to working on other projects.
