Yeah I'd be thinking that's a trip to the hospital for sure.
3 day brutal hangover at least.

Yes, these films are pretty fucked up. Love Shintaro Katsu, but Zatoichi is a more my thing. Still, there are scenes in the Hanzo movies I'm glad to have witnessed, enriching my life etc.

Just dropped some Seymour Duncan Vintage for Jazzmaster pickups into the nicest MIJ JM I've ever laid my eyes on. Sounded and played so good after a setup. I'm still, no pun intended, jazzed on that guitar.

technically got on tabs out's year end best-of tape list (I've got a track on a compilation boxset that's in there), which is better than last year, so that's cool.

Hooray for Christmas!

Tis still the eve for me. I'm working, but that's ok. CNN has Anthony Bourdain on repeat and I'm watching the NORAD Santa Tracker.

I tried outfoe a new band two weeks ago and made it. (Wasn't too happy with my own performance, but the other guys were really impressed). Tomorrow's gonna be our second rehearsal. Ever since the "audition" ended I've been waiting for the next rehearsal, not caring about much else, practicing their songs like mad at home. Also, after borrowing a bass for the first rehearsal I've now used some of my savings and got myself a bass of my own, which I'm very happy with. Looking forward to trying it out with the new band tomorrow. Can't wait! Bring on sunday!

Hung out with an old friend last night. Drinks and shooting the shit became listening to music we like till 4 am. Was super fun, dude is cool peeps.

Ran my new tele through the bass rig today at practice. tele with series pups + whammy -1 pitch = convincing bass sound with versatility. Everyone was wondering why this wasn't the norm before, so theres lookin to be more pink tele in my life. :!!!:

Fender Nate Mendel P-bass. Got a very sweet deal on it via a friend who works in the music store. At first I was a bit sceptical about the thin neck, since I've been used to a 50's p-bass that I've borrow, but it sounded great from the get go. I compared to a lot of the other basses in the store, both cheaper and at double price, and I still felt the Nate Mendel was by far the best sounding and feeling to me. I came back for a second time after giving it a couple of days thought and did the same. It had to be this one. It's sat brilliantly in the mix at rehearsals so far too! Will play my first gig with it the last week of february and then bring it on tour at the end of march :D

Sold 5 t-shirts this month! My best month ever (granted I don't try or actually market myself at all...or even keep up on my account...but people keep buying my print on demand! Once I get the screen printer up (in a few years) then it is on).
