Ordered a new phone. Samsung A3. Nothing too fancy, but after 1.5 years of having to charge my old iPhone up to four times a day I look forward to it.

The last year has been super shitty. My gf of the time went to jail, friends passed away, almost lost everything because of debt issues I didn't know about...But the last two months have really put my life back into place and I'm starting to feel like a legitimate human again. Everything worked out the right way with the debt collectors (turned out to be a gov't fuckup because I'd moved so much and they didn't get that I had been paying taxes still), I learned how to let go of past things gracefully and discovered the difference of keeping memories alive vs. being self-abusive with them. I feel like I am definitely on the upswing. I'm starting to play again (I hadn't touched my gear since November except to move it from place to place), found a really stellar group of ridiculously supportive friends where I am currently, and had the most astonishingly wonderful woman I've ever encountered become a part of my life. Stuff still isn't easy by any means, but goddamn, good things seem to happen when you feel at your lowest.

I am having a much needed period of good-mooded-ness as well. I've been having a blast learning to play bass in a band with my friends, I get to work with (and work out with, at my gym) awesome, beautiful women, I have a new art project to look forward to, and I've been enjoying the hell out of everything I've been reading lately.
