Starting to really understand French. Instead of having to translate every word as I read, I'm starting to just know what the sentence means, and then I go back and I'm like... how did I know that?

C'est tellement agréable de faire des progrès, surtout quand, comme toi, on est membre du parti communiste fondé par Napoléon.

Had to spend all day in a suit standing at a trade show for work which sucked but actually met a cool punk girl on Tinder (fucking one in a million) and we've been talking for a bit. That got me through the day in high spirits.

Tinder in this city seems to be filled with women working in music marketing.

I faked a doctor's appointment to get out of an all-office pumpkin carving "team building" event. :!!!:

Got called back for a second interview. :!!!:

The only downside (read: the part that's causing me to furiously shit my anxiety ridden pants) is that it's an 8 person panel interview.

I was so proud of myself for surviving the initial panel interview with 4 people.

Overall, I'd say it's good news though. :!!!:

I had a complete mental blank today and casually decided to tie my own hands together with a huge industrial cable tie. Just wanted to see if I could do the thing up with my teeth, never occured to me that it would actually be difficult to cut. Took me a while to get out of it, ended up breaking into the shed to get the secateurs because it turns out scissors and knives do jack shit. Put one of the blades in the gap between my hands then pushed the lever with my chin while the other was against the wall.

It was pretty stupid and I laughed it off in the end but man, my wrists are all bruised up. I know what I will be using if I ever have to kidnap someone though.

The industrial ones are probably too tough, but the regular ones can be snapped off pretty easily without using any kind of blade or tool.

As a student with three obligatory assignments and three exams left, in subjects I barely understand at all:

Thanks for the notes on Barthes though! Helped me a lot! :)*
