]Heh, with how weird DEP is Tera Melos opening doesn't seem that weird at all.
Now go child.
Fuck shit up!

That was the most fucking fun I've had in the last few years. I haven't hung out on the floor of a show that rowdy in a loooooong time. No crowds were surfed by me, but I surfed a few dudes, and helped surf one singer and one guitar player, and there was the now-obligatory get on stage with the band for the last song. I can't believe it's over. I'm also soaked in sweat from head to toe. SO. MUCH. AWESOME. TIMES.

Great band rehearsal yesterday. First new song in a couple of months. Somehow I managed to find a killer riff, it's been a while since I came up with a part that really shines. YAy!
I should be late and let the guys lock into a groove I can improvise to more often.

I like getting people mad. but also, like, c'mon.
As someone with an AAS degree (2 year degree, that's right, I went all in) in Electronics Technology, pretty much all my practical knowledge came from DIY forums. Also as someone who lives in WA, your EWU comment is hilarious.

Tell me again, College Senior, about the year-long lecture/lab and 40 pound text book teaching the intricacies of Muff circuits and their variants

Did your degree get you a decent job? This is what Im going to school for. Do you feel like it actually helped you understand what goes into building pedals or amps or anything?

No to your first question, but that's only because I don't want to do that kind of stuff for a living. Right now I work for a company that makes bicycle racks that go on public/transit/metro buses. All I do is sand blast. I don't think my education had any outcome on getting this job because it's super simple entry level shit. I will say, though, one of the harder things about an Elec. Tech degree is convincing employers that you are qualified for a position. Because people see that degree and think, "oh, you do software computer shit." But it's like, "No, I can program in assembly and fix the machines that run on them but I'm not gonna hop on some computer and install drivers and mainframe etc etc etc"
And my education
definitely helped me understand how to build things for my hobby. That's when school started getting real fun was when I was able to put the education together with all the stuff I read and looked at on fsb.org or any other diy site.
Sorry for the long answer.

No problem man! I wanted the long answer.
I'm hoping I can get a job at an instrument/amp repair place. Maybe one near an arts/music school. Even better if they have a contract with the school. Maybe someplace like Providence. And then work on amps and guits all day, build pedals on my off time, then work up to building amps. Become Ben Verellen.

I'm glad my EWU comment was enjoyed by someone. My cousin went there and dropped out. Also my mom graduated from there in the 80's. I basically go to the equivalent school in Texas. The burn is good because I know it's true.
