i just got back into the monome fold recently. couldn't be enjoying it moreee.
DOOD MOFO PARTY VAN WUT! (now I just have to get it running....)
haha party van is super cool!! MLR is def my weapon of choice tho. (this time around its mlrv2.4)
mash is another cool looper patch. and polygome is a lot of fun too!
i have been building my own +FX patch to integrate into mlrv2.4.
so far i've added a random pitch shifting glitcher+lofi delay, sample rate/bit crusher effect for the lofi heads, some vst fx hosting, a tape stop effect and i added a freeze style looper effect in 2 flavors (bpm division and boss hold mode style) last night
no previous max experience! just learning on the fly.
i think i just saw your name on the sidebar on the monome forum. that you? or are there 2 spacelordmothers??? i'm "ringo wong" over there. hit me up if you have any questions or issues getting patches to run. i'm not super familiar w/ the launchpad bridge, but i have 5-6 years under my belt w/ the monome, initial setup and getting the patches to run. i'd be glad to help!

hehe, i had been wanting to look into it for years, but never did. so glad i made the leap!
i started out just wanting to load a vst effect or two into MLR, then it snowballed into this crazy mess.
i just started my 2nd 30 day max trial
my only wish, would be to be able to take max patches out of the software and into some type of hardware device. (kinda like that spin chip ryan is using for the bitquest)
btw where abouts in upstate are u? repping roc city over here!!

It's such a crazy mess! I don't have the funds for a real monome atm, so I am stuck trying to get things figured out on my launchpad. It makes it extra fun to be learning having another layer of complexity/potential problems.
I grew up on Keuka Lake, but was away for a long time (last seven years in Seattle) and I just recently moved back to Ithaca. CULTURESHOCK for sure, but it does still feel like home.

i'm going to go look at a potential apartment Thursday morning. its the bottom half of a house (a fairly common configuration in C'ville, 1000 ft/2 for $800 which is way affordable on my income. i really hope it works ut because it'd be a simple solution in a relatively central location...and because maybe i can unload the truck into a place that's mine and stay for awhile. fingers crossed.

i'm starting to believe that it's actually possible for me to have a stable, sane, relatively normal life. i'd thought that was out the window so very long ago, but maybe it'll actually work out.
