I have 106's on mine in drop C# and it makes a huge difference. It's taking up the space of both bass and rhythm guitar in a hardcore band, and it works.neonblack wrote:It makes so much difference, its nuts. It feels so much more like a bass with heavy strings on it.

Just finished up my Bass VI. I freaking love to play it. Squire did some fantastic work with this (even though I experienced some of the same nut issues others have).

Has anyone replaced the nut on their VI? I'm thinking a new one might help with some of the tuning stability/buzzing issues I've been having.

I am going to, very shortly. I'll be sure to post an update when it's done. The soft plastic is just terrible.BoatRich wrote:Has anyone replaced the nut on their VI? I'm thinking a new one might help with some of the tuning stability/buzzing issues I've been having.

What material are you going with? I'm thinking I may pick up a bone one and get my bass a real set up so I can stop dealing with shitty playabilityUglyCasanova wrote:I am going to, very shortly. Where do you even get a new nut for it? I think I filed mine down too much trying to get my bigger strings to fit in there.
