it's funny… but for me the more any box is hyped even if I think the builder is a badass awesome dude, the less interest I has in it.. things like the rusty box, fuck, klon and so forth just hold less and less interest when they are what you read in every thread that said the Starry Wisdom is a interesting pedal, t's one of my go-to fuzzes

Dig it. Hype typically makes me want to check around for whatever may be sneaking under radar as much, if not more so than seeing what the fuss du jour is all about.
Things are more expensive when in demand, and I always have a shortlist of gear to grab that rarely surfaces, let alone for reasonable secondhand prices.
When opportunity knocks I try to be ready, but you cant get in ahead of everyone on everything when hype is deserved. Where there's smoke there's fire.
Goodbye 24 v1 I grabbed new. Had to trade for the ILFDD. Got the BitQuest new. Still wanted: No Memory, CT5 and some Sonic Crayon preciouses And on and on...

I want to explore many paths. Those well-beaten and crowded, others abandoned and long-forgotten, also freshly blazed trails...and scouting spots for a new way.
Places to go, fuzzes to crank, Sonic Crayons...to dream about

I feel like my love of fuzz is waining and all I want is a super low gain distortion that makes my bass dirty but doesnt clip and get all compressed. I dont know if thats a thing.

Build yourself a Colorsound Overdriver clone with bigger in and out caps to handle the bottom end and run your bass into that. The Baxendall EQ on that pedal is worth the price of admission alone. Then add the overdrive circuit and you have a winner.

Okay I know what the Power In is for... what is the power out for? How does it help me?

it works as sort of a daisy chain

I use it sometimes with my Polytune, it's there, why not... and my polytune is the farthest from my power supply, so i just power up the pedal underneath it with it usually, to not have to use super long cables from the power supply to do it

Yeah. I think it is bit tamer the the Black Forest though. It does have a very gritty sound to it. You could probably also try a Creepy Fingers Doomidrive. I just finished a clone of one yesterday though I haven't got around to trying it on bass yet. Will will try it later and let you know if I think it would do what you need.

Alright, so based on my Crass love and the fact that I always loved the beebaa sound (coincidental.. Didn't know crass used one until this thread), is there a different sound between the original and clones? I had a bb Jr that was kind of boring/lacked in volume/no trele booster (just sold it) and I had a black cat beebuzz that had more treble than the bbjr but I didn't like the layout but the sound was OK but it seemed more tame than the beebaa demos I've seen. Should I just go for the old Roland one or just say efff it at get an octave drone by seppuku? I guess I could always flip the beebaa too. P

It would be in a signal chain like this : rattle crow > Gomorrah > ring mod / toxic plant> 46 > beebaa > memory loss
