There are trimmers for tuning and for scale. If you can get the second oscillator in tune but it doesn't stay on the same note as other oscillators when you change notes then it needs to have it's scale adjusted. It isn't tracking CV the same as the other oscillators, for example it ma be 1.09V/oct instead of 1V/oct like the other 2 oscillators are.

Check on the Moog Forum for help from people that have a Voyager.

Yeah I checked around for a while and that was basically the answer, I should have realized that. I know tuning drift is a thing but didn't realize that the scale is also possible to drift. Too bad I don't have a multimeter to really check on that. I imagine I could probably tune the scale with just a regular ol' tuner or something.

I asked here first because I already have enough forum accounts to keep up with, I'll check my local moog repair joint to see if they have an easy way to tune it without a multimeter and shitty tools.

you can also just do the scale by ear and match it to the first vco. it might not be perfect 1v/oct but it will sound better than it does now. all you need to do is play C2 and C3 or just pick a key. start with everything in tune on C2 then play C3 and adjust the trimmer. repeat again and again.

^^ I actually did that and got my first and third oscillator close to perfect but my second oscillator has a problem because I can tune the note perfect but the trimmer that changes the keyboard tracking does nothing. I sent a message to moog and hope for a response. I'm bummed if I have to take the analog board for repairs this early into ownership.

New!

Somehow despite the fact that I don't really know how to play keys, over the years I have ended up with this, a MicroKorg, a Casio MT-68, an Alesis QS6, and a Yamaha S80. :erm:

Serge, pretty much the ultimate format IMO. So expensive but nothing sounds like it (electricity!! it is alive) or has the possibilities for multiple functions from so many modules. In Euroland, they love the MATHS, which is based off of Serge, because of the depth of functionality.

I was going to wait until it was all finished but that's likely not going to happen until after the holidays so here's my work in progress...

Image

I put it together using a bunch of scrap Ikea shelves on top of one of their cheap tables + a keyboard stand. I need to grab another $2 shelf to even out the XONE mixer (and have the stand holding the Maschine a little more centered). I'm also going to make some ends for the Analog Four when I visit the folks over the holidays so it's at a better angle. Missing from the photo are a MOTU MKIII Hybrid and an iConnect 4+ which sit under the Moog. I'm going to get a Faderfox UC3 to put on the shelf between the Moog and the Octatrack and a stand to clip just behind it for my iPad (Lemur, etc). Finally, the laptop doesn't actually sit up there, there's a stand that will be just to the right that will hold it so I can easily take it with me (to work or the couch or wherever).

To be fair, one of the main attractions of the Maths is that in addition to the great dual slope generators it has an awesome mixing section, making the module very useful for tons of things. It's a very nice evolution of the Serge module, not just a copy...
