Why do people say the Hoof is bright?

Post by closetotheedge »

I have an Earthquaker Hoof, and it doesn't matter if I max out the treble on the amp and crank the tone on the pedal; the sound never gets too bright or harsh. I think it's really fat and warm.

Any other opinions?

I'm not really familiar with the Hoof, but I have a green sovtek big muff. Also, do they say it's bright, or just bright compared to a green sovtek big muff? Because it's based on a green sovtek...and yeah, fat and warm.

Also, it took me a long time to realize how influential these things are for fuzzes:
-guitar volume knob
-placement in pedal chain
-placement of buffered pedals before it

Who says it's bright? I've never heard that from anyone.
