Hell I know that! Tommy was influence when I was coming up drumming how well he can lay a groove and make it turn straight into blasting and right back into whatever was needed. Miss Scott and Punch being in the band though.

I had a win win win day at the record store today. Bought 3 albums, no duds, had a $30 GF from a friend so I didn't have to pay much.

Kylesa on red vinyl. Norska used so it was a bargain. Son House is a new re-press on 180 gram.

Fuck man I feel lame. spent the day in a junkyard pulling van parts for the DooM mobile. snagged a new chrome bumper for the ass end of the thing. (it had none) Figured out what's wrong with the brakes, and the side door. Side door will be an easy fix, brakes not so much. Went out for sushi with insano wife and an old friend of hers, very cool chick who is also nuts in the fitness arena like Kari is. fun.

I know there are killer shows going on tonight.

I'm fucking broken down though. I guess I did saturday night last night. Ryder and I hit the Highline in Seattle for Stereo Creeps and had a raging good time there. Ran into Darren, Ian, and a bunch of other fuckers who fucking RULE. Wizards and Weedmasters abounded. The guitar and amp geekery conversation was A+.

Their new album is coming out soon and I got an copy of the cd finally. I've done some video work for them and now they wont let me pay for shit and I've gotten advance copy's of the vinyl as well as a test press copy and now the cd. pretty fucking cool. Anyone looking to get with a band for Seattle shows should look them up. Not Doom, but they occaisionally touch on it and are really going in their own direction I think.

Here's the weirdness I put together for them for the album preview. Apologies if I posted this here before. I honestly can't remember if I did or not. I'd be glad to lend my shite subpar video editing skill to any of your bands if you guys are interested in doing that.

Extra points if you can guess which track the Ancient Warlock played on :thumb:

I'm so old, KISS is the first nü metal band that I hated.

Well the haircut thing was going back to "who gives a shit what you look like" so people didn't feel ostracized from a group that may appear like they care but really don't about appearances

Hy doom roomers, I just got a Squire Bass VI, and I'm trying to figure out the whole scale length v. string gauge / tension thing. It's a 30" scale from bridge to nut, but theres also a whole mess of string behind the bridge.

I use a pretty weird tuning, and I actually skip the second string: G_GCFA

The first G is below standard guitar tuning but above standard bass tuning, and the G on the third is an octave above that.

Does that make sense?

String tension and gauge recommendations?
