Dazed explained it best, but yes pretty much identical.

Bear love...close enough.

Awwww thanks buddy.

It's actually alot brighter than expected, especially in comparison to the Wizard which has an extremely similar preamp. But its not like sizzly bright, its like a cut through the mix with a knife type bright. But also in comparison its extremely clean which is what I needed, and definitely way louder on bass. It's "loud" up to about 70% volume but once you cross the 75% mark it just gets recockulous.

I do not believe so. I bought the tour box Cthulhu. If I buy Dunwich, I buy nick built Dunwich. :thumb:

Sweet, sounds like a good pedal platform. You'll be rockin with that and the 810. You're just making me jones even more for my Dunwich head. Hopefully Nick gets the chassis in soon, I think pretty much all the components are in already and I'm the next build on deck.

Oh it totally is! Yessir!

Oh dude the queue wait is rough but just wait till the build pics start rolling in, then the anticipation kicks in and its insane. Trust me you will definitely find it to be your end all be all amp. :thumb:

It's been on deck a while, but the chassis had to be special order, because of the size. That and pedal orders pushed it back a bit. No complaints there though, because I ordered pedals after the tourbox lol. That's my goal with the build as well, good pedal platform.

Ahhhh I gotcha, what size chassis is it gonna end up being? My only real hold up was the custom headshell. It was originally supposed to be an Emperor headshell to match my cabs, but they were building their own heads and doing a press push on them (even though they were never available to the public) so they didn't want any brand confusion / competition. So I went with a Mammoth and I'm soooo glad I did it turned out ten times better than Emperor would have done. What kind of headshell are you going with?

I've got another Volt Thrower in his queue too, this one is for my bass board. What did you order after the tourbox?

Oh and trust me if anyone can build THE ultimate pedal platform, it's Nick. How do I know? Because I all ready own it.

its going to be same width as any 200W but its 1-2 inches deeper on the chassis. now that the pedals cleared I can begin work on the amps

Some of the wait was holidays, pedal back ordering, and recent family stuff

I dunno, Nick is handling that part. It's just going to be a pretty basic ORMAT kinda shell, with black Duratex on it I think. I'm guessing TJ or Adam will probably build it. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is the name/font for it. I'm leaning towards "Mr. Grumpy".

I ordered the VT and the modded HM-2. Already have a Wizard and Cthulhu. I'll probably get the ODB when it's finished too, didn't put in for the tourbox one because it was a bit dark for me.

Sweet. I don't stress about the weight, I'm actually kind of glad we already did the trade a while ago. I had about the same amount of cash it would be saved up, but now looking at the possibility of my wife not working until she has the baby. So it'll be like getting an amp for free when it's done...emotionally.

(EDIT: I meant to type "I don't stress about the wait", but all of Nick's manly weightlifting brainwashed me!)

Gotcha. I like Mr. Grumpy, it would be sick in an old school Orange or other psychedelic font.

NICE!!!!! I'm loving the VT and the Cthulhu. The VT is my "modern" tone, while the Cthulhu is my "vintage" tone. But when you mix them together its like a "future" tone nobody has conceived of yet.... Except for the Tone Wizard himself.

I've been using the Wizard on one side and the Cthulhu on the other for double tracking guitar demos a lot since I got them. Looking foward to throwing the VT in the mix with them. I really like running my RAT into a Pharaoh on one side and a Meathead on the other, so I wanna try a similar configuration with all the Dunwich goodies.

Are you referring to the one in Tuxedo, NY? I went for the first time last year. I've also heard good things about the one in MD.

Yep, that's the new York one I have been too. It is kinda like the Maryland one with the permanent buildings. It just doesn't have the same atmosphere I guess. The Maryland one is just great.

You should definitely be set then! The VT seems to love both being boosted and boosting other pedals.

You gotta try Cthulhu > VT atleast once. It's magical.

I had planned on doing some demos of stacking the pedals in different orders/combinations for the tourbox, but I just ran out of time. Between doing one guitar and two bass demos for every pedal in a week, woof!
