Fucking FedEx screwed up my pedalboard plans for today. They tried to deliver my Fat Fuzz Probe at 8:30. I don't think I sleep in all that much on the weekends but even my dog didn't hear him.

So Uncle Grandfather are you in a band or doing solo stuff? If a band, does the lack of a consistent board make it hard for everyone else or to set up a set list because some songs would require specific pedals...plus the lack of a physical board would make setup a pain at shows.

the story so far is that we're in the middle of a 2 yr hiatus from touring, writing new material, hence the different pedal configurations as I try out new sounds, hence buying all these vintage fuzz pedals for some new tones I want to explore. this material is for a band, but I'll also catch moments that I'll wind up using for other projects. i play solo performances, or duo's trio's etc....we're getting together to record a 7" shortly to start promo for the new lp. I don't put together a "board" until i know the set list, although what you consider a board isn't what I would consider a board as most of my pedals are too large for a compact arrangement. i often set up at a table, with a mixer and pedals layed out before me with expression pedals etc on the floor, and i'll sit in a chair with my guitar in my lap if i'm playing guitar. i'll also put some pedals often on the stage where feedback is easily achieved and i'll get up and over there for those moments having some control at my feet or additional pedals. and...today I got some new pedals and was trying to get a better grasp on what tones these have. I set these up, take a pic to share that is somewhat organized, and then make a semi-circle around me, I also record to tape so I can get a closer listen to what's what. the band is two drummers, a bassist, and myself. sometimes.

Planning some changes to accommodate future purchases and fit a few incoming pedals on. So I figured I'd better post the last iteration of the live board as it's been, give or take, for the past year or so. There's a Roland expression pedal off to the right to control the Xero. Got a Moog Ep-1 somewhere that I like the sweep on better, but the treadle doesn't stay put - it has a tendency to wander back to the centre after I take my foot off. Whatever. The Roland weighs about 10 kgs less anyway.

edit: The Boss Enhancer was a place holder - it is now a DD-7.

the foxx tone machine or fy-6. ... hard to say cause the fy-6 has so much more harmonic content/ghost octaves going on that it just sounds fuller. and angrier. ... the maestro 70s fuzztain has a solid bottom.

the fuzztain just sounds like a low gain muff on bass. the tone machine is high on my list. so the fy-6 is the superfuzz. do you know if there's any difference between the shin ei and the univox big footswitch models? if I go superfuzz, im not messing with anymore clones.

From everything I've been told, and researched....I don't want clones if an original is available too....the fy-6 by shin- ei is the original circuit. The early univox models even looked like the fy-6, the red/blue design was later and purely cosmetic.

Shin-ei licenced out their designs to a LOT of different brands. Univox happens to have made the fy-6 most popular as the superfuzz.
