I'd straight stick my dick in that pedal.

Once we all have PLLones, we will form a band called INSANE PPLone POSSE.
We will play symphonic PLLone cover versions of Insane Clown Posse songs.
It is my hope that we will someday perform at The Gathering of the PLLones.

That dimehead is ridiculously clean. Schumann would be egg faced. How long did you spend on the layout?

Do the OG PLLs have a reputation for breaking down? Looks like a true nightmare to diagnose and repair. It's like instead of goop he chose to utilize a rat's nest of wires to conceal the design.

Having had the opportunity to repair and dissect one, I can honestly say the weak points are the wiring, and board mounting. The boards themselves are sturdy enough. Not the cleanest of PCB design mind you, but they do the job well enough.
The board could have been better dimensioned to take advantage of the slots available in the enclosure, and the wiring is... well... a freakin' mess. All different gauges (probably whatever he had on hand, or gutted from customers guitars, pedals, etc.), and suspect soldering, at the best of times. It was what needed the most attention on the unit I repaired.
Degooping was an adventure as well. But that's a story for another time.

I also found this comparison video between two original PLL's and the Dimehead:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZIfAqoeaHQ
The Dimehead seems geared towards the top one with the red light more, though the original one seems a bit gnarlier I think.
The bottom one with the blue light seems to sound way gnarlier than both and to be honest I like that one the best in this video, tracking might be a little better on the other two though.

Our dimehead pll is generally optimized for guitar. slightly less output volume as the orginal.
For a direct comparison, he should turn down the master a little bit of the other two.
Play a little with preamp (lower setting as original) and trigger to get the same fuzzy sound...

Hi Dirk,
I was thinking it might be in the settings as well, forgot to mention that.
The Dimehead seems pretty close to the PLL with the red light.
The video is also not clear in that it really shows the settings of the pedals compared to eachother.
Do you have an original PLL, if so would you make a comparison video with the Dimehead?

I'd suggest that there is likely no real difference between the red and the blue pll in the video, but the settings don't seem consistent knob to knob across pedals (which should be no surprise given the build techniques). I say this from the position of having owned two at once.
