Just a suggestion; Be careful how much (insert choice of goop here) you use to cover the IC's. I had one project where my over use of goop actually burnt the chip, due to the fact that the IC's heat transfer properties were compromised. I ended up wasting 3 chips before figuring it out.

The heat generated of course varies with the application, hence we see some IC's completely encase in epoxy, while others have only a light coat. I'm only saying to be careful. Also remember that the dielectric properties of (insert choice of goop here) vary, and you don't want to create transfer problems between IC pins.

My goop of choice is hot glue, and I only dab the ends of the IC's, to prevent them from ever falling out of the socket.

Kudos on the choice of knobs, and love the big jewel light as well. Very Achtung Machinen!!

Thank you so much  It is actually hot glue I coated the chips with lol, I was worried about the heat as well but tested it out on the proto I made and it works perfectly. I also have a fan running on it while I coat it so it can try and cool it, I was actually thinking of coating with some clear silicon DAP, the stuff for sealing windows lol that way I can avoid the heat, but can it corrode the IC's over time? I use sockets but I like to coat them for the same reason so that they can't fall out. thank you so much again buddy, I really appreciate it

Its alive the Dimehead FX PLL Clone.
A nice teaser for the prototype will be up on Thursday.
This one works with 9VDC and is also tweaked to better tracking.
It sounds fantastic and and there are endless musical and many many weirdo noise sounds inside this crazy box...

I finally was able to test my bread board PLL with 12 volts for like 5 minutes yesterday. The trigger control was much more responsive and the loop controls seemed better. Not sure what I will alter yet but the version I'm building for myself is going to be housed in a retarded huge 9" by 6" enclosure. Itching to get it boxed I have almost completed an etchable layout that I did with graph paper and the paintbrush tool in photoshop. Probably the worst layout ever with shitloads of jumpers above and under the board. Pray to Jesus for me...

Ha! It's been 5 days since I've looked at my layout. Looking today, it's quite laughable. Might a a disaster.
