I don't think any of those are what you're after. A Sound Shank is more likely. Also check out the upcoming Crimson Drive, which seems to get into fuzzy territory with the grain cranked.
Tone reaper is hybrid and has a tone knob. Dream Crusher might work depending on what you mean by raunchy. The Spy vs Spy is the Black Arts Toneworks Fnord. It's a crazy octave fuzz...dunno anything else other than it's pretty gnarly sounding.
well I love Devi Ruby and Bit, Pharaoh, JHS Charlie Brown, DBA Apocalypse, so I mean a spluttery heavy fuzz. I looked at those two demos they would duplicate what I get already.
Not to be a snot but I just ran through all the fuzz demos at EQD and I'm not sensing what I am after. Which is sort of mad considering I love the Speaker Cranker. I am thinking Dirt or Talons sound the best but they are not getting gruesome enough for me. Talons hould have multiuses as an active EQ. That's a plus.
If I had the moolah to spent for trying shit out I would be all for it. But I only have a few bucks coming up and I am going to have to get the Black Arts Pharaoh. If I had an extra art I would get Death By Audio Apocalypse. This hobby is for rich fucks.
The Pharaoh is definitely crushing. I just got one after holding out for way too long and love the shit out of it. Check out the Ritual - one knob of gnarly fuzz.
I don't know what type of transistors are in the Dirt Transmitter, but that thing can get raunchy as hell when you want it to, especially into an amp that's already blowing up.
Far out far out - I love Earthquaker stuff. I want it ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
I have the Speaker Cranker. It's fantastic. That's a leave on all the time overdrive/boost for me to tone down clean sweetness and meat up the potato channel. But now I want to have something for those Hey Hey My My moments.
No shortage of EQD fuzz love here. I have Hoof, Tusk, Sound Shank, Tone Reaper, Monarch, and DIrt Transmitter...and seriously, THEY ARE ALL INCREDIBLE AT WHAT THEY DO.

When's the crimson drive being released anywho?
I asked in the Talons thread a month or so ago, at which point Jaime was aiming for late November, but my guess is that it'll probably be a bit later than that.

If you haven't already popped for the Pharaoh here is yet another referral, I held out on fuzz for a long time...just couldn't find the right one tried a bunch of muff version and some boutique stuff but ultimately ended up relying on my gain channel and tone knob at 0 for fuzz tones up until a Pharaoh popped up on craigslist for a decent price and I had heard great things about it so I grabbed it. Hands down the best Craigslist deal of my life...in every part of every song where I use to roll the tone down to 0 I now just switch on the pharaoh instead to a much better effect. The versatility of the pharaoh is amazing as well, getting it I thought i'd keep it on the germanium clip full time but found I like the the no clipping position a lot too.
Other than the Pharaoh the only other fuzz I myself would consider is a Verellen Big Spider which is a dedicated germanium circuit...albeit it a bit costlier, absolutely everything he makes is quality and has a 100% unique tone, once you've heard anything Verellen on recording or live you will instantly be able to call it in other rigs.
I did buy a Pharaoh. I was low on funds so I got Black Arts email and asked Mark if they had one which he could sell cheap and he sold me one with an old paint job for a hundred and twenty. That was really cool and I use it alot. I also like the no clip mode - it's just a great sound. Nice and heavy.
