Make a Dr. Scientist multieffect?

I'm not talking a generic Boss/Digitech crap in a box, and I imagine if you did it it would be a pricey special order, but each individual Dr. Scientist pedal all lined up in one big box with the greatest graphic presentation of all time would make me forget all about that time I had unprotected sex in Haiti.

So many visual options open up with that and your pedals sound phenomenal together.

Hi LW!

You know, I actually almost did something like what you're suggesting for our Pedals for Peace offerings.. I was going to put a Tremolessence and Frazz together in a box, they sound awesome together. We ended up deciding a Reverberator was probably the best idea but when we do it again I think I'd like to make a combo.

Your idea is even cooler though, the whole line up in a box! I really like it! When we get our production under control and I (hopefully one day!) have some extra time to explore projects this is one I'd love to do. I think it'd be cool in a wide box with all the pedals side by side.. maybe something like Cleanness > Frazz > Tremolessence > Cosmichorus > SDD > RRR.. I wish I could get cracking on it today!

Totally awesome idea though... kinda makes me forget about Haiti too. Those were the days though, weren't they.. *dreamy sigh*

You could call something like that the Dr. Scientist "Big Box of SCIENCE."

That RRR looked like the bees knees though.

Awesome!!! But that runs into the big problem of a superbox (would need a name like "President Dr. Professor Scientist"...ya that's the ticket), your pedals work especially well in non-traditional orders. My favourite tone in the world is sending delay and trem into the Frazz and hitting the gate just right so that it sputters into crazy sub rhythyms as the notes decay.

The weirdo I am, I'd go :
Cosmichorus --> SDD --> Tremolessence --> Frazz --> RRR --> Cleanness

I love to throw dirt on top of modulation and delay and I'm very big on having a badassed EQ and boost at the end of my chain to really set my tone in the mix. But I know that move isn't what everyone wants and I guess that's the problem with a mega setup.

It could always still have outputs on top so you could route any order. I think Phoenix Custom did that with a triple pedal they did and it seemed like a smart move.

Still, it's just a dream, but a nice one. I'm sure you guys would come up with something for the artwork that could put Bob Ross to shame.

Just searched for Bob Ross to find actual footage of him painting and there are nothing but joke sketches of people mocking him.

I'm now setting my requests higher. First, I'm after a link to a genuine clip of the real Bob Ross painting. Second, the Dr. Scientist multi-effect of awesome.

Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

You're exactly right, each effect should just have jacks on the top so the user can decide the order.. like a modular stompbox system... really badass idea! What kind of box do you think would be coolest? I was thinking something like the 1590BB Hammond size but really wide, like 6 1590BBs side by side...wonder if they make that...

Another cool idea could be to put the effects in a rack case and then have a floor switcher for it.. I think I'd rather have it as a big multi pedal though.

Maybe if we had one built we could take it the PBS people and offer them a trade, the Big Box of Science for all the Bob Ross tapes... make some dreams come true.

Great idea all around. With a Dr Scientist multieffect one could rule the world! And with the complete Bob Ross tape collection one could learn to paint it! Ah, those happy little clouds...

I feel like the boxes for this thing would have pictures on it like those old junior scientist kits.
"Ever wanted to experiment with different noises, but never had any giant boxes to mess with? Well now you can! With the Dr. Scientist Big Box of Science, you can be a mad scientist too! Just hook up your favorite instrument, press a few buttons, turn some knobs, and PRESTO! You've made a fantastical, magical, chemical soundscape that noone could ever have heard before!"

I'd buy one but I'd probably have to sell some vital organs for it.
You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.

I hear you, Dexterecus, it does sound kinda pricey doesn't it! I can't stop thinking about it though! It's a really cool idea and I think it would be a really fun thing to have... I wish I had one right now..

I love the idea of making it look like a junior scientist kit! I feel like if I had the right enclosure for this thing I'd try to find some time to mess with it, what a fun project.

I've been pondering the power situation for it and I think it'd be best to run off a single 12VDC 1amp wall wart and then inside I'd isolate every pedal with it's own 9VDC regulator and filter.... anybody wanna come over and make pedals so I can mess with this modular idea?

If I wasn't a poor rising college student, I'd move to Canada immediately!

In the meantime I'll just keep saving up for the science.

Starting to think it would look best with the jacks on top of the pedal in an almost modular synth/telephone patchbay fashion. Maybe not the practical solution (lots of broken plugs when the cables get kicked), but damn would it ever look nice.

So many options for the looks too. The amount I'm blown away by your artwork, I really hesitate to suggest any art, but everytime I picture this in my head I imagine it to the theme of "Monkeys Vs. Robots". It's a picture drawn in marker by a friend's kids that I keep at my desk. His youngest drew a bunch of monkeys randomly on paper and his older (but still really young) son came by and put rayguns and elaborate lightsabres in the monkeys' hands and created a robot army all around them. It ended up being the most bizarre and abstract battle scene that the world is ever seen. It brings much joy.

Still, the whole appeal to this is the crazy shit you guys would come up with on that big of a canvas. EVen if there is no time to build this, the concept art alone would knock me on my ass.

That sounds like the smart way of handling it. I don't think anyone would expect battery operation on this one and multiple power leads in would seem excessive.

Also, I'm alright with a soldering iron so if you want to start sending parts to Toronto I'll get a sweatshop going ASAP. I'll call it The Super Awesome Fantastic Happy Funtime Workplace and pay my workers in racoon pelts and keep the beatings infrequent. Actually, maybe we're better off keeping the Dr. Scientist wait times, but also keeping the beautiful personal touch all your work has that I love so damn much.

This has nothing to do with this idea, but the name Dr. Scientist always reminds me of Eureka http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by-7kkAu2Pg

I just realized that the total amount for all the pedals in the box would be $1575.00 (sans tax).

I'd still be awesome.

Bit pricey though...
