most of the ric amps you find are either small combos from the 40's-50's or solid state stuff from the mid 70's-80's and those are very affordable. got mine for around $200 about 10 years ago, but it's very rare, can't even find another picture of this thing. i think john hall said they only made a few hundred. apparently was his take on silverface twins, but sounds warmer and darker, LOVE it!
Here's my current setup, Carr Slant 6V head with 2x12 Carr cab and Orange RV50 head with 2x12 Emperor cab. The Emperor was a Christmas present, best one I've received in many years!
I know the orange rockverb 50 has a loop and the 30 doesnt. do you put delays in your loop for that late 80's arena rock sound? and have you tried running the send directly for recording. I'm leaning towards a orange rocker 30 head very soon.

I have delay pedals going into the front end of the amp from my board and I use a Maxon AD999 in the loop, which sounds great. Haven't tried running the send for direct recording though, usually just mic my setup.

Also, first post.
The JCM 900 gets a bad rep a lot of the time but it's a solid amp, I've been using mine for 3 years now and while I'd love to buy an Orange head or an older Marshall or Hiwatt at some point it still sounds really good to me. I dunno, I'm a bit biased because the 900 SL-X was my first head I purchased (aside from a shrunken head in Haiti, but we'll save that tale for another day.......) and it's never let me down....... although if you leave it sitting on it's side yours definitely might.........
Ampeg VT-22 amp ripped out of the combo and pooped into a new chassis with a purple Avatar Contemporary 412 (loaded with V30s.) For ta stereo set-up, I've been using the Peavey Centurion Mark III (was using an old Oliver, but it is in desperate need of re-tubing and servicing) and my friend's Marshall 1960A Lead cab. Currently in the market for a new bass cab.
Don't know why the picture is upside-down, and I'm covered in makeup and fake blood, but hey! huge amp. Kustom 200 (my sunn was in the shop) and Acoustic B200H (used as a power amp for my Rusty Box) going into a Sunn 2x15, 2 Acoustic 1x15s, and an Avatar sb112.
