I'm expect some sort of banishment for my behavior but in all honesty,....I hate that place.

The absolute only use TB has is the classy and I'm pretty set on gear ATM.

I think it's funny how on a heavily moderated and forcibly polite forum you'll find the biggest, most passive aggressive assholes. Then on a forum like this with loose moderation standards,....where the expletives aren't deleted people get along, respect other people difference of opinion.

the VT Bass is like ICP,....the product stinks and the juggalo fanboys of said product are even worse.

I got an infraction out of the deal. Which is fine, I deserved it. I'm normally a pretty affable guy, but JimmyM called into question my individuality and that sort of set me off. I think I have a unique voice but maybe that's just self righteousness on my part. I don't think I'm better than anyone else,...I'm just attempting to sound different from everybody else. I practice hard and play hard. I want it loud and angry, angrier than the VT Bass is ever gonna get me.

grygrx if you're watching, sorry for making a mess for you to deal with. I'm taking a self imposed temp ban from TB and JimmyM goes on my ignore list.

BTW if you want a good sounding Ampeg SVT in a box check out the SoundBlox Multiwave Bass Distortion from source audio. Put it in Single Band Normal. Oh sweet gee whiz. It may not sound like an SVT but it's very clear but bruting distortion, and I play through all SS gear, granted through and 8x10, a 4x10, and a 4x12 guitar cab.

Man it really has become a toilet... I stayed off for while intill N3 started up but when that is done I am done. I just don't have the want anymore, I don't want to fit in, don't want to behave, if you bug that shit out of me I want to say so, FX was the only thing I stayed for for the last year and now FX sucks big hairy monkey balls... Hardly anyone ever showed any interest in the pedals I wanted to talk about and almost no one could ever answer my questions anyway... so... meh..

My thing on J-M.... My only contact with him was in DB and FX, and in both he was/is a irritating noob with a mr. know it all attitude but said stuff that was wrong a lot of the time... I left DB years ago do to GOMS taking hold and I don't like being questioned with attitude by people that I have been play longer then just because I have a lot of bass guitarists in my influence list so in short well fuck'um!

All I really noticed is that it just isn't us, look how slow TBFX moves now. It's becoming a dead zone. As we know and are... the people that REALLY like FX are not into reading about the same thing over and over or have the same two pedals rammed into their face for EVERY fucking answer... "Hi I need a chorus" "dude, just get a VT and BBM! It's not chorus but man it's close" We is tone chasers, we is looking for different. Soon the droning will just drive everyone off and it will become the EXH/Tech 21 sponsored forum, with a subcategory called "other"....

Also... I never have been into Jennifer Aniston at all....

I've noticed that there has been a sharp drop off in activity on TBFX. Shit they banned Excane who had a sweet setup. DT as annoying as he was is also gone. Seems like most all the people who get it have gravitated over here to escape. I just hope those that don't get it (yeah I mean you J****M) don't find this place and in the event that they do I'd like to see ILF institute a no "Tech 21 Threads" policy.

The way I see it,...they aren't FX they are basically amp clones with out the poweramp or speakers. I guess you could call it a preamp,...but even then just because it's in a box that can fit on a pedalboard doesn't make it an effect. Unless I miss my guess most people who have these things probably put it on top of their amp. That's no slag at Tech 21. I had a BDDIP cause I needed to drive a poweramp, but once I got a proper rackmout Pre the Sansamp was traded for a delay. They fill a niche and good for them,...I still don't consider them an emulation company not an effects company.

EDIT: Okay I guess they have the XXL, XXLB and that Red thing,...but they aren't fooling anyone.

I had a original XXL and HATED IT it was sooo milktoast.... one of the VERY few dirt pedal I have gotten rid of and was very happy about doing so. I have no problem with people liking the stuff I just find it borring.

Alright come on, let's not do this. I admit that the VT Bass suggestions are completely out of control over there, but don't start crusading against Tech 21 as a whole. Because I currently have a Tech 21 pedal on my board now, and I dig it. And I'm not gonna sit here and quietly pretend that it doesn't piss me off when you say shit like this.

If you want to get technical, all of the "overdrive" pedals are amp simulators. Period. What do you think the Tubescreamer was supposed to sound like, anyway?

What I meant to say is "I consider them [Tech 21] an emulation company not an effects company". For sure that's arguable but you would say they built their rep on Tube emulation.

As far as they go as a company I don't think they are a bad company. I've got a guitar player buddy that uses one of their landmark guitar combos and he loves it. Tech 21 should be stoked the VT is selling like hotcakes, and FWIW,...I think they may stand the test of time. I actually liked the programmable I had but it stopped getting used so I traded it.

It's really just a matter of me not taking it too seriously and just scrolling quietly past VT Bass threads, but gawd dammit there are a lot of VT Bass threads.

I hear ya. I do the same. And I agree that their best stuff is their emulation pedals, as opposed to their actual effects. The Leeds is incredible, especially since I don't have the scratch that I'd have to shell out to get a vintage Hiwatt 100. I do actually want to try out the Red Ripper, since it seems kinda sorta like a Prunes and Custard, which I dig.
