murf. i am so torn over this series. i fucking ADORE it. like. ripped through all seven books in about two weeks. but i'm also terrrrrrrified of something happening to Princess Donut. like. i actually was having anxiety dreams whilst going through the books.

i mean. i have anxiety dreams about a bunch of topics on the regular.

but i've never had hours inside my unconscious head where i thought i was actually reading a book, that i was making up, that went all the awful ways i was afraid things might go for two characters i like a lot.

had one where the dungeon Flowers of Algernon'd Donut by giving a debuff that erased the effects of the Enhanced Pet Biscuit and she was this vulnerable little creature that vaguely remembered how intelligent she was and Carl had to protect her even more and... and on.

lol. it doesn't help that having five cats at home right now means every personality trait she displays pops up in at least one of them occasionally. SUPER RELATEABLE FEAR FOR THE KIT. and shit.

when the fuck is Book Eight coming out? GIMME.

i read that he said he was going to do ten books at most, which makes sense with how some of the floors go quicker/get skipped/crawlers never getting past 11 so the AI/Borant never designed a few of them... it feels like it's building to a climax by the Gods Ascension floor on twelve?

I ended up joining Matt's patreon and he is super active on there which is cool. He posts parts of the books as he works on them so I've read parts of book 8. I assume it'll be awhile, like year or more, for the actual release and I dunno what his book deal for that one is or if he even has one?

I describe it as like sour patch kids? It's not mind altering or amazing writing but its super entertaining and well done, very hard to put down.
