I thought the plate was stock? also I blame John Mayall for that crap.

Yeah, I think that control plate is stock on a '65 Duo-Sonic.

(I also blame Mayall for Clapton. :rant: )

tbh, even if i'd bothered to read the listing, that wouldn't have come to my attention bc i've never paid any real attention to duosonics. which is odd, considering i'm playing on sunday with someone who has a sixties duosonic which i've seen dozens of times, and the only things i could tell you about that guitar are that it was stripped and stained church-basement-brown; and it was drilled out for a string-through bridge.

whether it has a chrome control plate tho? :idk:

actually, maybe i should take a coupla pics and post'em in this thread :snax:

oh, and it has a duncan replacement pickup - sounds pretty nice in its one middle pickup way....

Yeah, I think the late '50s/earlier Sixties Duo-Sonics had a one-piece pickguard (first aluminum and then plastic). Somewhere around the mid-Sixties I think they switched to two-piece 'guards/control plates. :idk:
