I've uploaded 8 mins of sounds, if anyone wants something more "out there" let me know and I'll make a second one.

Leaving town for 10 days, just pulled some things from last recording session. Hope you all find them useful!

I put up a hand full of sounds today and they're not very good. I wen't to try and clean them up a little but my DAW isn't working so they are basically the raw files straight from my field recorder....that being said I suck at using that too. I'm still going to try and get some better stuff but feel like the quality is going to be pretty shitty regardless. Did I mention that I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff....

I think that's how everyone starts :) If you can include some of the audio from before the part that you think people will want to use, then we could sample that section as noise and use noise reduction functions in a DAW to remove the unwanted sounds from your recording.

Just a check-in/reminder we are coming to the end of the first phase on Sunday. (more or less!)

That makes this a good time to wrangle your sounds if you haven't yet and get them up on the google drive. (I have a bunch of stuff semi-ready to go, so I have to do all my sound weeding myself, so it's not just you if you haven't shared any sounds yet.)

Lemme know if you have any questions about the process or whatnot. My email should have been in the dm's I sent around in case ILF gets life-threateningly slow.

I've put a few of our tracks up, most have one dry channel and one effected channel, so use whichever side you like (or both!). Should get a couple more finished by the weekend.

I just realized that my recordings are in 48khz. Is that going to be a problem?

Pulled the lap steel back out and tuned it up (or, actually, down a bit to BEGACE) and restrained myself from hooking up any effects except drive + reverb and did a bunch of short ideas, most of them two-chord vamps. There's several different ideas in each of the files I uploaded, might be useful for someone. Also uploaded some of the other stuff I had set aside, so I am content, I think.

Looking through the google drive, I see this:

Has uploaded stuff:
the_bright_undead
Paul_C
oldangelmidnight
moid
manymanyhaha
Heraclitus Akimbo
coldbrightsunlight
cantremember

Has not uploaded stuff:
dubkitty
Dowi
dandy13
aedes

Feel free to check in with your status, peeps in the second list!

I think we'll be using some of those lap steel sounds! Great to have some less processed stuff to play with... now need to fight the urge to own a lapsteel...

I feel like I'm super-limited in what I can think to do with it (still hoping to do a couple lessons with a friend when that's more feasible) but it's super-fun to have. Dunno if they're sold in the UK, but I feel like my Recording King was a good value-for-money purchase.

I can't remember if I got my Recording King from Thomann or a UK shop... But they (or an equivalent brand) are obtainable in UK. Agree that they're good value for money.

(just double checked and they are available here)
