Haha, oooh yes! Had three bands going for a while, separate pedalboards in separate rehearsal spaces. Also, it's four if you count the TU-3w, which tbh I haven't even used yet. Plan is to put it on when I rebuild the big board.qersty wrote:3 boss tuners

i am impressed, as my "post all the pedals you own" would be a pic of my boardPanicProne wrote:First time in years brought all my pedals together. Knew I had quite a few but no idea it was this many. 15+ years of nerdery iirc. A little embarrased (took me a good few minutes before I pressed "submit" on the post) and overwhelmed, but also very few regrets. Has and keeps giving me a lot of inspiration. But I deffo need to practice my instrument more, haha.

Re: POST ALL THE PEDALS YOU OWN EXCANE-STYLE
I think if I posted all of the pedals I own, easily 60% of them would be broken or largely inoperable. Is that cheating?
Is an empty shell still a pedal, or is this a philosophical topic for alternate versions of the ILF experience?

Wow. That's interesting actually. I have only two not fully working pedals. The 69 and fromel shape, they both work partly but suffer from signal loss/glitch at times. Otherwise never had a problem. I do also have an empty dark driving case (since it was rehoused into a smaller one by Ryan) and did not add that to my pic. How come you have so many broken pedals?
Either way I say the interpretation is all yours.

Re: POST ALL THE PEDALS YOU OWN EXCANE-STYLE
The vast majority of my gear exists with me because it was not in good working order to begin with. I exert my own trash heap gravity, and have also either inherited or taken stewardship over collections of gear or electronic components via similar channels. For example, when the music store I worked at in the mid-late 1990s was moving from the location they had been at for well over a decade to a smaller location, I was invited to haul away a share of the broken shit in the attic/etc.PanicProne wrote:How come you have so many broken pedals?
I guess you could say I'm drawn to broken things; as is my uncle, who has in the past bought weirdo or broken devices and traced them... that stuff piles up and then when he decides it would be nice to be able to reach the TV set or open a door without inviting avalanche I'm happy to absorb a pile and put it in the process/repair queue.
There's also RMA detritus (but I feel that would be cheating).
Though I think in terms of strictly pedals 60% might be exaggeration (I'd have to dig and test to be sure), once I figure amps, synths, and rack gear into the equation 60% is probably about right.
I'll take a pic when the opportunity presets itself.

Cool. You do any documenting of the repairs and restorations? Would just be interesting to see what stuff you do and have collected and managed to save over the years.

I used to blog about it: http://crochambeau.blogspot.com/ , but slowed way down once I started designing stuff (this will hopefully turn around as I plan on offering PCBs/kits at some point with accompanying build video manuals).PanicProne wrote:Cool. My optimistic goal in the coming year is to procure a proper powered desoldering station and some sort of better camera situation to capture some repairs/builds/mods. At a somewhat casual pace, of course. Top of my to-do list is a Roland SH-1000 in non-operable condition (I'd also like to plant some MIDI capability into it), to finally get around to restoring (or rustoring to be more accurate) the Gates and RCA mixers, and to put a serious dent in my pile of old PA amps. Tons more stuff is begging for attention, but it'll probably be a minute before I dig into the stomp boxes.
