Zero pints, unprovoked: Three out of Thrash's 'Big Four' can get fucked. Anyone who says they like Megadeth and/or Anthrax is lying. Metallica's fine, but their bad discography outweighs their good, so they've deleted themselves from the top spot. Slayer's good, but Voivod are better than all of them. There's just a Big Two now. Deal with it.

Half a pint, limbering up, ready to block an attack: Nobody likes Crass. Nobody has ever listened to a Crass record front to back and said "yeah, this is good". Also - Sunn O))) are the Ramones for hipsters. There're more Sunn t-shirts in circulation than there are fans of Sunn. Admit it. You don't like them. You want to. But you don't. Poseur.

0 pints, at bar or friend's house: "yeah this band is okay." *wishing desperately someone would put on Black Marble*
1 pint: "Hey, have you heard of the band Black Marble? I think you'll dig it."
2 pints: "I'm going to put on Black Marble. Let me see your phone."
3 pints: "See this is tight"
4 pints: "fine, you can change it back"
5 pints: "yeah, you're right, this is great!" *dances with vigor, but poorly. Mostly neck and arm movements*

This is... Somewhat familiar. I've managed to mostly cure myself of the impulse to put on music I like at parties because it's always this story

Counterpoint: Anthrax is good. So is Crass. So is Sunn.

However, my inner music snob compels me to point out that there hasn't been a legitimately great stoner rock band that has started within the last 10-15 years.

I'll give you Crass and Sunn are alright but the point about the ratio of people who actually like them to people who like the the merch... :whateva:

Seems totally reasonable and easy to verify.
