I've replaced the N-4 equivalent with an N-1 and it's certainly made a difference, I'd say the oscillation is more erratic and unpredictable, so I'll probably change back once I've made a couple of recordings with it.

I put a multi fx in the send return then I put a feedback looper on the IN/OUT. made some cool noises. I think it was an N-1. I never tried anything else. sticking a delay in the send return loop makes it not exactly oscillate but still make self noise. hard to explain.
