Re: What happened to Uncle Grandfather?
Hmm, everyone who knows the dirt must be camping out over in the modular thread.
He got trashed on a fair amount for incessant posting of his paper circuits. And his kinda-maybe borderline autistic interaction style.
His secret identity was also semi-revealed. Turned out to be a person who was often bashed by this forum. It's slightly shrouded in mystery and I am not 100% on the details. The "truth" as I heard it was almost too surreal to believe, or perhaps too surreal to not believe.
I think, given all that, he simply found ILF to be a no-longer-hospitable place.
I miss him. In a place full of weirdos he was one of the truly weird ones.

He was the embodiment of this place what with his unabashed, over the top consumerism and dedication to the art of noise. A true music lover. A part of ILF died when he left.

I completely forgot about him until I saw this thread but I agree. He was a fun poster. Now my curiosity is piqued!

He was the GOAT and the reason I found ILF because he would always shit post his gear in the guitar general thread on 4chan and piss everyone off so I googled his shit learning about all the weird ass pedals he had and it brought me here.

After some brief searching these tidbits make a lot of sense.ritz wrote:Hmm, everyone who knows the dirt must be camping out over in the modular thread.

I’m glad he’s gone. The guy drove away a ton of good people when he joined. He killed all of the gear threads for months with his incessant posting. I maintain that the guy should have been banned very early on.
But where are these odd tidbits? The only thing I found was a joke by ruiner stating that he was Rod Stewart?

Funny, I heard Toto the other day on the radio and wondered the same thing.

I always wondered where all those obnoxious assholes ended up. Stands to reason a few would be hererepoman wrote:

I know his identify/name and I don't know what you're referring to here. Might have been before my time, as I've only known him as UG and BOB.ritz wrote: His secret identity was also semi-revealed. Turned out to be a person who was often bashed by this forum.
That being said, we got into arguments towards the end of his stay here, but overall I've had good interactions with him both on the forums and via facebook and PMs. I still don't get the appeal of those paper circuits, but that's another topic.

Ah, well in this case perhaps the truth isn't actually stranger than the fiction.

I liked UG. He was a lot more fun when he decided to drop the shtick of being reclusive famous musician and just came to peace with being a dude with a hefty disposable income and zero social skills.
