Ferrari is so crazy....it ain't worth it haha (to me). I was reading about 180 degree headers and the Ford gt-40 (I feel like a freaking scumbag with all this Ford talk....but I'm starting to dig it). Anyway, the 180 degree headers can make normal v-8s sound like a Ferrari. Supposedly. They are neat. I think the gt-40 was made to beat Ferrari after a bad business deal (Ford was trying to buy Ferrari). Don't really need them with the inline 6 though....but someday.

GT-40...I saw a legit perfect condition on in person once....I was kinda in awe. I never thought anything outside of a GTO would be so cool haha. Tiny though and I don't think I would fit. Dn cool car.

Anyway, that's what I've been planning to do to the mustang inline 6. 3 Weber dcoe 40 into an individual runner manifold. It's about as close I can get to efi without computers (mechanical fuel injection ain't good on the street). Going to put 2 3into1 headers on it with an x pipe to dual mufflers. Should be a good little low to mid-range torque machine with good gas mileage.

I had a dream last night where somebody was giving me ancient microwave sized Kodak cameras. To protect the viewing lens, they stuffed silk scarfs inside. When I unpacked the scarfs, it turns out they were hiding their ancestors in there (I think the lady forgot she put them there)...

BUT, I had a ranchero inline 6 with a cross ram syle dual 2 bbl Weber setup (like 32/38) with the carbs sitting above my passenger fender in a scoop like 12" high. That was pretty cool.

Pope, you all down in Australia kept this 6 style alive. The one aftermarket head is based on the 250 2v. All our US Ford straight 6 heads have cast on log intakes....really bad design. Wish I had the CI or Oz 2v. Let me know of you see any cool 6 stuff Pope! (Australian drag racing is pretty dang out there and awesome).

That's a fun read. A CDI unit is definitely a more expensive spare rattling around in my front compartment, and my points have yet to leave me high and dry.

Well, my ignition points haven't fucked me. The lower set of Bosch D-Jetronic points that feed the analog computer FI system have given me grief. And since that's a crazy expensive part for what it is I should indeed be thinking on going a custom/modified route eventually.

Maybe you can throw some kinda clear coat on the body to preserve the rust without allowing it to spread?

I think I saw a pro stock impala like that do a 9 second 1/4 mile. It was jet black and pretty damn impressive. Speaking of which, my wife is sending me to Pomona swap on Sunday to look for a break of power steering setup for the mustang

I'm getting some respect for the mustang. The 200 inline 6 is actually a breeze to work on.

I tuned the heck out of it with a vacuum gauge and got it running really nice. I'm getting some slight hesitation when driving it over 20 min...I'm assuming it's something with the accelerator pump in the Holley carb. I found some Mikuni 40 phh for cheap and my wife picked em up. I still need more to go individual runner....but

What if I replaced the Holley 1940 which is like ~ 190 CFM with one of the Mikuni 40 phh with an adapter. It's ~180 cfm per tube...might work as a temporary setup to get rid of the lame Holley? I would need an adapter made. Probably won't do it. Probably wouldn't work very well either.

Converted the ignition off points. Took like an hour with the new coil and new spark plugs.
