So , basically, a synth that can hold, with the option to add octaves.
what would you want the next ss/bs pedal to feature?

I would be stoked to see a fuzz with a gate that is controlled by an envelope/input gain, but that closes randomly as the input signal fades. So instead of a smooth close on the gate, it would be cool to hear sudden ripping and stabbing noises emanate as the input signal decays/degrades. This might be best done with an oscillating fuzz so that there is some sustain even when the input fades quickly.

As much as I hate to say it, basically half of Devi Ever's stuff is this. I think the US fuzz was famous for it.johnetone wrote:I would be stoked to see a fuzz with a gate that is controlled by an envelope/input gain, but that closes randomly as the input signal fades. yeah but the Devi Ever stuff sounds like shit to my ears. I had a Truly Beautiful Disaster and never could bring myself to use it because it wasn't really that musical. Or, I guess I felt that the DE stuff was better in post than in live settings. It just kills the tone of the instrument and the amp. I want this kind of functionality in a Buzzz. Call it the BuzzFuck or something and send it on over!

you know the random oscillator setting in the more recent Moogerfoogers? I want that to happen to a gate as it decays. so an envelope would grab the sound and an oscillator would take the signal above and below the threshold at even or random intervals to create a spikey decay that would sound glitchy but not bit-crushed. add this to a Buzzz!!!

I think it is time for a SS/BS WASP filter pedal. Could have some sort of drive attached or not, I could care less but I know Brian would do a sick job of this.
I have thought about buying a doepfer wasp euro module and trying to put it into a pedal but the project is a little bit over my head to be honest.

Brian used the Wasp filter in the Pretty Years!

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Is this one of those "time traveler from the future travels back in time, but not far enough back, and everyone is like oh yeah that happened already, pretty years" kind of things?D Rock wrote: SS/BS WASP filter pedal

I kinda want a Deluxe fuck, with the EQ of the Mini and the on/off switch modified to be on-latching-off. That'd be dope af.

This plus an input for an external envelope (so I could actually use a synth with it) would be pure gold.Inconuucl wrote:I kinda want a Deluxe fuck, with the EQ of the Mini and the on/off switch modified to be on-latching-off. That'd be dope af.![]()

That'd require a relay and microcontroller. OH WAIT WHERE DO I WORK. I've actually been planning this since the Mini schematic is out there and there are hints on how to tackle the crackle. ..but naturally it would be better if it came straight from BrianInconuucl wrote:I kinda want a Deluxe fuck, with the EQ of the Mini and the on/off switch modified to be on-latching-off.
