Yep, close. A 1965 Reverberocket and a 1966 Gemini I. Love em both but the Gemini I is my big love. Lots of shimmery chime but very full and warm at the same time. Yeh, ampegs do have a distinctive tone. May not fit every application but they suit me well. Love the Gemini I so much I just acquired another one today, it was local and the price was just too good to pass up. I'm sure there's a reason I need 2...

Thanky thanky. The guitar rig is probably going to be replaced with a single 212 amp of some kind soon. Hopefully a Twin will pop on CL for cheap soon. :joy:

Morax: Whats the trick with the patch cable in your effects loop? Does it knock out some highs/noise or something?

it's no secret that vintage Orange effects loops are mess of parallel stupidity...absolute rubbish...so when I had it modded we converted it to series instead of parallel...only problem is if your not using the loop then you have to run a patch cable to connect the preamp stage to the power stage...no patch cable means no sound  ...you own an old OR series Orange head I highly recommend the loop mod...and if you don't dig it, it's an easy fix if you need to switch back...

Definitely a sweet amp for cleans. The one for the bass head or the one on the floor? The bass head is a gator that the guy gave me with the head when I bought it. Pretty pricey though. The one on the floor is a super cheap "Tuff Box". Really solid cheap rack case. Search for it on ebay. I think the 3 space was $40 or so. Hope that helps.
