Might have gotten a ride to LA/the bay next week, which would get me out there in time to work farm harvest, so, yay? If that pans out, i'll disappear for a stint, but i love you all.

Edit to add 24 hours later: aaaannnd maybe have a room available whenever i want it on a farm. There's goats and a beautiful dog and a 10 person hot tub and free water. This is good news.

Played a really fun gig to a fairly empty bar last night. For our first two sets, we were basically giving one couple a private concert, and they were actively participating in our banter. Then the place emptied out for our last set, so we just got to have fun and play really obscure tunes. Fun stuff.

Sounds awesome! I really like those times when you can turn a tiny/zero crowd into a reason to have fun rather than getting bummed out. It's an attitude I try to keep whenever I gig.

I'm finally getting a fucking raise! Which, of course, means more money for pedals!

I was supposed to work a shift for a coworker tonight, but one of the managers fucked up the schedule, and it turns out she didn't have to work anyway, which means I don't have to work! :!!!:

Ran my first game of D&D with some friends tonight. Five hours. Half in character creation. DM'ing was stressful, but fun.

Sounds like a good time Foom. Really gotta find a playgroup for that shit myself.

Finally playing guitar again with my two piece band after playing only bass for a while. Glad to be back at it. The Dirge tele was calling my name.

Soooo, today is going to have some last minute packing. I move tomorrow. Gonna be in the woods for a week working on some land with folks, then it's off to LA, the Bay, Portland, Olympia, and who knows. I'll see y'all soon.

I quit my job last week. Fed up with the bosses pushing me and some of my collegues around when we're doing an amazing job. For example telling on of us off via text message if one of us ends up being 15mins late once. Yes once, yes, via text message, yes, 15minutes. When confrontiing them (three times) about it, in a nice way, calmly saying I think it's unfair and explaining why, and that I'd rather have them tell it straight to my face if they're not happy with my performance, and why, they saiad "ok, we'll try to think of that next time" only for them to a few days later AGAIN push me about for the smaaallest of details, just because.

There's a gazillion other jobs of the same kind in my area, which I could probably get. So I quit (one month left and then I'm outta there!) and I'm bloody proud of myself. Their loss.

After finally getting some money in and buying chinese food last night for the first time in forever, I've rediscovered the greatest late night meal on earth: reheated steamed rice mixed with sriracha sauce.

I moved into a new house on August 20, and yesterday my three roommates and I finally got the last box of stuff unpacked in our common areas, strung up rope lights and set up microphones around our amps/drum kit in the studio, and turned our kitchen table from a junk pile into a fully functional we-can-all-eat-at-the-same-time kind of table (I haven't had a dining table since I moved away from my dad's house over 6 years ago). It took almost 4 weeks, but our house is finally finished being put together.

I also have about a 2-month break before I play another show, so I decided to go fully boardless in that time - I have a shelf in the studio where I keep my pedals and I can go grab which ever one(s) I want to play with, so now I'll get to spend a little more one-on-one time with each of them & really dial in some sounds. I'll post an image of our studio tomorrow or something, I'm pretty freakin' proud of it.

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!
