Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
Every good band should have a good post defender. Can't let people attack the hole in the middle of a gig.

Not digging the JMP into the Emperor with Weber 65s. Sounds better alone with the Atlas and 55hz Reapers. Sounds godly running them together like this though.

marshalls arent as forgiving as you'd expect when it comes to speaker choice. but the more speakers the better.

Tele Plus and Beta Lead make a great pair. Chain is Dunwich ODB > modded Acapulco Gold clone > Dunwich Marsh Chapel> El Cap> Black Eye. Makes loud noise, works for me.

Fender Lace Sensor Red Dually. Coil switchable, 29k output when used as a bucker. Massive sounding pickup with tons of sustain.
Guitar is stock and pretty much predates the American Deluxe Series Telecaster. They weren't around long and most of the finishes were in awful colorways. Doesn't really do the "Tele" thing as it has a strat type hard tail bridge, and the neck pickup which is a blue lace sensor is voiced after a Gibson P90.
Biggest sounding Fender I've ever played and replaced a SG I had been playing for a long time.

I love Marshalls more than anything else, but I also only ever run 16ohms into a single 4x12. I don't really dig the 8ohm tone.waltdogg wrote:marshalls arent as forgiving as you'd expect when it comes to speaker choice. but the more speakers the better.

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
depends on how your nfb is wired. if it's to the 16 ohm tap like it probably is for you 70s super leads the 16 ohm tap has something special the other taps dont. my hellhawk has the nfb wired to the 8 ohm tap. alex claims it makes no difference but at 8 ohms my hellhawk sounds the best methinks. when it was wired up like a 70s superlead instead of a 60s superlead the 16 ohm tap had the nfb wired to it and it sounded best on the 16 ohm tap, in that configuration.
yeah my rig never changes so i never post it. something special about handwired marshalls and their clones though.

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
That Emperor is wired for 16 ohms. Marshalls are generally too bright and not enough lows for me. Cuts through and sounds nice but like my women I want them to have a big bottom end. I've swapped the heads to the other cabinets and my problems were solved. with the 55hz Reapers I can get more lows with the bass set to 6 than I can with it dimed into the Emperor.

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
Weird. Marshall are kind of known for low-mids, no? What speakers are in the Emperor?
