Youp. Comes with the territory. Here, some parcels just pass through customs and I don't have to pay shit. Sometimes it works if the parcel is marked as a gift, other times the seller has put a low value on the invoice/import papers, other times not...it just happens randomly.
Not your fault or problem, Brian. Just venting.

yeah i know it still bums me out. i've sent things through differently all of the time with high hopes for folks - gift, low value, return/repair, etc.UglyCasanova wrote:Youp. Another one bites the dust. Weird that they don't post any actual pics and use the mock-up from before it was finalized.
I can't imagine parting with mine. I only got about 20 minutes with it the day it came in and it was blowing my mind. I'm about to have a few days off and I can't wait to sit down and really dive in.

FUUUUUCKING Royal Mail. They have it, but they can't track it for some reason.
Anyone got any videos or clips of them using the pedal?

Re: Pretty Years
Hey everyone.
I'm not very familiar with using the cv control and was curious if anyone knew of an affordable pedal/option to use to plug into the pretty years? It sounds like it would be a fun option to play with but I don't have modular type stuff.
I'm thinking of just using a 9 volt battery and a pot as a voltage divider to run into it to try it out.
Thanks.

Re: Pretty Years
Try out an EHX 8 Step. If I remember correctly, 8 Step does 0-5V which is perfectly fine for PY and will let you do more complicated stuff than just an expression pedal.Timv wrote:Hey everyone.

He probably used stupid filter settings that cut off essential frequencies.Strange Tales wrote:zeravla wrote:https://reverb.com/item/2971170-smallsound-bigsound-pretty-years-pedal-2016-custom

Re: Pretty Years
ugh yeah i've been lucky to have largely been outside of the upcharging flipper world but this stuff bums me out... i know once someone buys the pedal they can do whatever they want with it and it's completely their right but for fuck's sake that is a lazy listing... wrong picture, "custom" whatever that means and then upcharging both the pedal AND the shipping while not even including the vinyl or shirt lol. i certainly could have charged $400 from the start for this package and felt ok about myself but i always want to have things be as affordable as possible... also, sure there are some settings that are "low level compared to other pedals" but there are also like 500 other settings that are loud as fuck.zeravla wrote:https://reverb.com/item/2971170-smallsound-bigsound-pretty-years-pedal-2016-custom

rant over.
that will be basically the same as the frequency pot on the pedal so you won't get new sounds from it. as for dedicated CV pedals, make sure they output using a TS jack, rather than TRS but i'm pretty sure the dwarfcraft happiness (i think there is a video of this happening) and some of the copilot CV pedals would be good to go.Timv wrote:I'm thinking of just using a 9 volt battery and a pot as a voltage divider to run into it to try it out.

Re: Pretty Years
Thanks. That explains what the cv input does so I know what to expect.
I'll have to play around with the pedal some more, it does a lot and makes some crazy sounds I just need to figure out if it is going to be useful to me.
I think once I play it through my full rig a bit louder I'll get a better idea of what it can do.
Looks like the ehx expression pedal would work well, you can plug a regular guitar cable in and it turns into a cv out with 0-5 volt range.

Re: Pretty Years
I'd theorize that that the person selling this could be someone who hasn't even received theirs yet and is simply flipping it to flip it. Otherwise, they are stupid for posting without a real picture. Wish they had an offer button.smallsnd/bigsnd wrote:ugh yeah i've been lucky to have largely been outside of the upcharging flipper world but this stuff bums me out... i know once someone buys the pedal they can do whatever they want with it and it's completely their right but for fuck's sake that is a lazy listing... wrong picture, "custom" whatever that means and then upcharging both the pedal AND the shipping while not even including the vinyl or shirt lol. i certainly could have charged $400 from the start for this package and felt ok about myself but i always want to have things be as affordable as possible... also, sure there are some settings that are "low level compared to other pedals" but there are also like 500 other settings that are loud as fuck.zeravla wrote:https://reverb.com/item/2971170-smallsound-bigsound-pretty-years-pedal-2016-custom

Re: Pretty Years
I've been using the env out from a dwarfcraft arf with a TRS cable with no problems
I love how the PY functions as a gnarly distortion or can be used as a noise box. reminds me of the dirty doper all the time. was channeling sounds of the universe last night
