If someone wants to get me a belated XMAS gift:

Don't really like yellow. So, this'd be fine too:

I'd even accpet something like this:

Many thanks.

Those are nice. I like most of 'em. I especially like that Calder though. I also like the Koons and the Lichtenstein a lot too. (I like how they suggest being in motion.
) You'd think I'd like the Ken Done because of the purple, but I really don't. I do like this Andy Reiben though:

Look at Calder, he's such a badass:

Re: The Automotive (& other mechanized vehicles) thread
Man, Port of LA is a crazy, kind of intimidating, huge place....like freeways join it...
Just insane...parts are below sea level.
I know the people that were the middle men who ran the remodel of the place...craziness.
I've always kind of wondered about the crew on those ships...like how many? What do they do? What happens when something tips? It boggles my mind.

Re: The Automotive (& other mechanized vehicles) thread
Yeah, Philly's a bit up river. So, can't handle the bigger ships. We've got the Port of Elizabeth on the way up to NY though.
I'd imagine Port of LA is really insane.

Re: The Automotive (& other mechanized vehicles) thread
I think Port of LA is the second largest (in terms of volume or land mass or something) in the world (I think China has the biggest).
Kinda nuts...everything has to go up the 110 or 710 to get out by land (then to the 5 or 405)...which is kind of a funny joke...item gets made, sits in warehouse for full container, sits in container until boat is full (up to 6 months), item sits on boat for a month, item sits in customs seven days minimum (for those containers it can take several weeks), sit and wait for land-based logistics, then goes and sits on a freeway before sitting in another warehouse and then probably another...then shipping to final desination or retail establishment...
Like dang, up to a year for people to get cheap stuff haha...It is kinda crazy how much logistics and stuff go into such a tiny per-item profit...barely seems worth it.

Re: The Automotive (& other mechanized vehicles) thread
Yeah, pretty cray that almost all the stuff the US gets from Asia comes through LA. That's a lot of stuff.
