This may be spammy but!!! I am gonna do it anyways.

I am a man with many side projects. I helped a friend with an Android app for a contest he is doing.

BUTTTT... it's a type of operating system/coding I assume. The HTC phones run it and I think it's a new Unix-type hybrid like OSX.

Android is an operating system from Google that is meant for Handhelds and Smartphones. It is linux based.

HTC, Sony. Motorolo, Google, Samsung, Nokia all have Android handsets.

There will be a few tablet options in the near future to battle it out with the iPad.

The beauty of the Android system , is the openness. Apple is a very closed system. If they don't want you to play in their garden, you don't get to. It gets to the point where they play big brother and babysit the end user. NO THANK YOU.


Full Disclosure: I have an iPhone. I love it and the software, but the decisions made for me by the developers of it really grind my gears.
