That thread is actually the reason I'm interested in the Woofer Wailer now. Just based off the name I always assumed it was a fuzz. Tricky naming technique there, Ryan haha.
Also, bonus points to anyone who can guess which person I am over on HCFX. (Hint- I posted in that thread.)

It's a pretty dumb name, isn't it! Honestly guys, I didn't put a lot of my best effort into the Woofer Wailer and I really can't wait to retire it.
I do think it's a top notch Tube Screamer version, decked out with good options and I'd be confident in standing it against any of the big name Tube Screamer pedals on Earth but it's just not a pedal I'm excited about and I regret making them. We've made arrangements with one of our stores who's always really liked the pedal and they're going to get the last 10 of them soon, next few months kinda thing.
For one thing it's not really a sound I like... I personally wouldn't have a Woofer Wailer or any Tube Screamery on my pedal board and am not really a fan of that kind of overdrive tone. Mostly though, I just don't want to make a clone. Especially a clone of a pedal you can get from the original manufacturer. There's no passion in them for me, no excitement or adventure or education to be had with them, and I don't think they're what Dr. Scientist customers even want from us.
So they'll be gone soon and there will only be about 100 of them out there, wailing away at woofers... in the night... in your house? Maybe...
Once the new RRR is ready I'll get cracking on the overdrive pedal that will replace the Woofer Wailer. It'll be like the Cleanness with 5 knobs for volume, gain, bass, mid, treble, plus it'll have some clipping options and cover lots of gain territory... and it'll be called The Elements. And the write up for it will be full of alchemy silliness.

Sold. You want me just to mail the contents of my bank account to you in advance?

I should probably try the woofer wailer. actually, i thoroughly dislike the sound of any tubescreamer... but i like the IDEA of it. NW got me to pick up a menatone red snapper cuz it does the transparent sort of OD with like a bright/presence knob and a high cut.. it's really an incredible OD. I'd love to see the good doctor build an overdrive like that.. or perhaps something to replace my wylde overdrive. I love it so much, it's got the right amount of compression, it just has too many damn highs! i guess that's cuz it's for leads..
now, if you can build a pedal that can do both a transparenty and compressed OD that's switchable, i might actually melt.
the elements.

I hear you, Kevin, that Tube Screamer sound doesn't really do it for me either. The Elements will be able to cover that territory but it sure won't be the main focus.
There's no wait list or need for emails or anything about it yet though.. it's just a twinkle in my eye right now and will be many months away from being ready for production. The upgraded RRR is the only thing I'm developing at the moment.... soon as it's done it'll be time for the Elements and you guys can count on being the first to know!
